I think I need unbiased opinions.

I'm unemployed at the moment, total nightmare and really getting me down but that's life.

I saw family on Sunday for Mothers Day and my uncle said to me "So what are you up to these days?" (Think the last time I saw him was Christmas)

Completely standard question, no problem there. I just said I'm not working at the moment, and it's been quite hard etc.

The conversation moved on to completely different topic for a good 15/20 minutes (I wasn't really involved in the conversation) it was mainly my uncle, aunt, sister and bil.

Then out of no where my uncle said -

"So what exactly do you do each day then Finn?"

Just felt so embarrassed to be said with it in front of a load of people, and the conversation had already moved on.

It wasn't the best question, though I wouldn't take it to heart: I was asked the same thing when I was on maternity leave. I think people who have always worked can't comprehend what not doing a 9-5 job means for your day
