To be disappointed that I haven't spotted my DSis on MN after all...

Was lurking on baby names earlier, in particular the rather identifying thread about sons' names and ages combos, and one poster had the exact name age combo as my DSis! I got all excited and did an advanced search to check, but it wasn't her...and I felt all disappointed...

Bonkers, when I don't even know if she's an MNer, and probably wouldn't want to be found if she hasn't "come out" to me before...sigh, anyone else have an irrational desire to know they know other MNers in real life?!

Nope.

Lottiedoubtie · 16/03/2015 22:11

I'm hiding from my sister in real life on here so frankly I'm just pleased it wasn't me you 'found' Wink

ShootPeppaPig · 16/03/2015 22:17

Also hide from my sis on here Grin

It's not me

Atnelpoe · 16/03/2015 22:18

Me and DSis do like each other in real life I think ah, maybe it's for the best...

MAybe it is, but she's changed other details to try and mislead her dsis. Grin

HomeIsWhereTheHeartIs · 16/03/2015 22:28

My DSis told me her user name ages ago, and every time I look on certain Topics I get a thrill of excitement incase I recognise her name. I'm yet to see it though, so maybe she got cold feet and changed it.
need to get a life

Atnelpoe · 16/03/2015 22:35

It's a possibility DeWee but if that's the case she's trying really hard to avoid me...basically changing all the details of her life except the names and ages of her children...

I worry my sil is on here and will find me.

HellKitty · 17/03/2015 08:21

I noticed a poster the other day, checked a few back posts and I know her Confused

She was getting advice on a certain topic - not as the main op - and I thought, 'hang on a second, that's not how it is!!!' But I kept quiet.

Dumpylump · 17/03/2015 08:27

My dsis is on here, and she knows I am too, but I don't know her user name, and I'm not sure if she knows mine. I've never "spotted" her anyway! Occasionally we've had chats that started with "did you see that thread on mumsnet?" and I quite like that, but then, I count my dsis as one of my best friends. Might be trickier if we didn't get along Smile

I found someone on here. Amazed how people basically tell their entire life story!

Fourarmsv2 · 17/03/2015 19:11

I met one of my best friends via a MN meet up but don't see her in here often any more.

I also had another friend who NC but with a particular posting style. I recognised the style, but not the name. However when I thought about it the username made sense.

I don't post any more on here than I tell my friends, but I probably wouldn't want a 'new' friend to go and read everything I've ever written.

Sure one of my sisters is on here [waves if she knows who I am].
