See now, I'm having my lovely lie in for Mother's Day, I am snug and comfy, but BURSTING for a wee.

If I go for a wee it will be assumed that 'Mummy is up!' 'Lets make pancakes' 'look what I made' and so on.

I am not done with my lie in, there is no way to stealth wee and return to bed they will hear me!

Damn pelvic floor.....

This made me laugh, but it is the same with illness. My DH started to be ill about two weeks ago. Initially I wasnt I'll, so he got star treatment. Lovely freshly prepared food, although he couldn't eat much. Regular visits from Florencehole to the sick bed with home made hot lemonade, little treats etc. I changed the bed and slept in the spare room because of the coughing. He was like a pig in muck, albeit an ill one.

As he got better I started to get ill. So what happened to me? No nice food, left to my own devices for hours as he is watching the Sport on the TV. In the end I did think of ringing him up using my mobile and asking for some toast and a drink but I staggered up and went down stairs. To be met with' oh! go back to bed, I will make you something! I felt like retorting ' well you didn't did you ? and now I am thirsty and hungry.
It is the same every time I am ill.
Once I am up, that's it. The washing, cleaning and planning will still be there waiting.
How can my very intelligent, lovely kind DH lack such intuition and knowledge about what I like and how I would like to be treated if I am ill?

When the children were young I did catch him saying to the DCs, where's Mummy? I also caught one of my SIL saying it, when one of my daughters was getting a well earned lie in.

When I am ill I need me to look after me. I dread being looked after by a man if I get Dementia...... About the only advantage would be that I would lose weight.
I hope you have managed to sneak your visit to the loo in now Post, and are back in bed, getting your well deserved lie in. However I suspect that your OH will be priming the children by saying ' I wonder if Mummy wants to get up yet?, shall we go and see ?'
