To Think Carole Middleton is the Royal Family's karma

I rather admire her actually. Anyone who can wield that much influence while over riding long established power & traditions of the 'Suits' as Diana called them is staggeringly alpha and probably scares bejesus out of the them. If social climber is best they can come up with , so what. She's a bloody good one if so. Its karma, they were bound to meet a more alpha female than Diana eventually. I am not anti royal BTW but i was staggered at its bordereing on medieval/backward culture reading the biog of that ex naval guy who ran Charles' household. Its way past time for a new broom. So what if she is over protective of Kate, who wouldnt be, looking at that dysfunctional family?

I've never played CC - is it too late to learn?

Rosa · 14/03/2015 13:04

She offered me a job over 20 years ago !!! Very nice pleasant lady .

Bettercallsaul1 · 14/03/2015 13:05

Depends how long we've got before the Revolution, BB.

Bettercallsaul1 · 14/03/2015 13:12

You need to be good enough to be able to play while also looking up to see the gory heads being held up for us to admire. So I'd start on Level 1 now.

OnBlueDolphinStreet · 14/03/2015 13:16

Sweet!

ghostyslovesheep · 14/03/2015 13:17

anyone mind if I go off message and play monsterbusters? it's much better than CC

JoanHicksonMIfive · 14/03/2015 13:18

If they are happy with the situation, good for them. I do think the Cambridges should be more honest and use less pr rubbish as it insults the publics intelligence.

BreacaBoudica · 14/03/2015 13:26

Right, I'll get on it. Always good to have a plan for when the Revolution comes...

MetallicBeige · 14/03/2015 13:32

I have a coat that is nearly identical to one I once saw Kate pictured in, mine was from Dorothy Perkins, so I don't think we've got the exact same one but we me and the stylist do have similar taste obvs so I think that makes me better friends with her than any of you stalkers.

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 14/03/2015 13:34

I put more in the coffers than I take out.

Where's my palace?

Bettercallsaul1 · 14/03/2015 13:49

Monster busters is fine, ghosty. The main thing is to have a pastime which doesn't distract you from the main event - the separation of royals from their heads - and allows you to clap at your "favourites".

Bettercallsaul1 · 14/03/2015 13:54

I agree with that, Metallic - I've got a coat the same colour as (one of) Kate's so I consider us soulmates. Oh, and my cousin's neighbour has a corgi.

heartinthebronx · 14/03/2015 14:02
  1. Just on with the Ginger crunch creams at the moment. I only started trying them because they were all that was left in the Spar, but they are actually nicer than the chocolate ones.
  1. I bought a pair of burgundy red trousers last week, and am practically strutting as I walk.
Bettercallsaul1 · 14/03/2015 14:10

Good to know, heart!

Springtulip · 14/03/2015 14:24

I find the monarchy as a UK billion dollar tourist industry and an institution, interesting
I don't believe that for one minute, and I'm sick of it being used as an excuse to justify the huge cost of supporting them. Tourists would come to the UK with or without them.

Springtulip · 14/03/2015 14:33

And I'm sure I read that the Queen actually puts more into the country's coffers from Crown revenues than she takes out?
Absolutely not, the huge income from the crown estates (from which the queen takes a big cut) would revert back to the UK if the monarchy were to finish tomorrow. What ever the queen puts back in is only money she got off the taxpayers anyway.

RandomNPC · 14/03/2015 14:34

What kind of mouth-breathers come to visit a country just because it harbours a ruling class of entitled parasites?

ClaudiaNaughton · 14/03/2015 14:36

Love Carole Middleton licking Anmer Hall into shape. Lucky Kate having her onside. Wonder how she and Diana would have interacted.Hmm

Bettercallsaul1 · 14/03/2015 14:40

Spring and Random - couldn't agree more. Roll on the Rev!

JoanHicksonMIfive · 14/03/2015 14:42

I think Carole would have Mothered Dianna too.

007JamesBond · 14/03/2015 14:43

Rosa - you are practically family, I'd say Grin. Change your name to reflect your Middleton status.

JudgeyHotPants · 14/03/2015 14:47

The Daily Mail really hate her dont they? Not surprising though really, she represents eveything they despise. An older woman, an older woman with working class roots. And when you think it couldn't get any worse, she began life on a council estate!

How dare her daughter marry their air to the throne...

ClaudiaNaughton · 14/03/2015 15:27

Actually Judgy I think you have described their core reader.

TheHiiTCrowd · 14/03/2015 15:33

I haven't read any recent reports but I think the anti-middleton zeitgeist in the british media is the worst about britain in a nutshell. (I lived in the uk for over a decade and I miss and/or respect a lot of things about Britain). This aspect, derision for a family that has done so well financially, it baffles me.

I agree with derxa Carole may or may not be a nightmare but I admire her too. She has as much right to be a part of her grandchildren's lives as anybody on the royal side and I imagine she won't hang back because she' not royal. And there is nothing about that that I don't admire.

PiscesLondon · 14/03/2015 15:36

I read an article in the Daily Mail last week, apparently Charles has been mouthing off that he never sees George and "a source" said Carol dictates George's nap time, what he eats etc.. I find that unbelievably difficult to believe, whose mother dictates when their grandchild naps etc? Hmm My mother wouldn't dare & wouldn't want to.

I'd love to think Diana would be very involved with George and that she & Carol would be great friends.
