....to wish that Virgin WiFi would not keep failing on the train given that.....

I spend £800 a month on a Virgin season ticket, £60 a month on the Virgin car park, pay finance charges for Virgin money products, Virgin Active, occasionally buy the odd bottle of Virgin coke.

FFS the only thing not virgin is me Grin

Yet the WiFi on the train fails frequently. Sad.

They still make Virgin coke?!

[misses the point entirely]

ARoomWithoutAView · 11/03/2015 19:12

They do, but not in UK for a few years now. I don't think the profits are Virgin's anymore. Anyway the point is, collectively all I want for my £1,000 monthly contribution to Voyager Investments is to be able to chuckle at Mumsnet posts in the short space of commute I have on the way home and on the way to work the next day before all hell lets loose either side. Not too much to ask.....Sad

£800 a month? Where do you commute to?

PickleSarnie · 11/03/2015 21:58

I steal the WiFi on our train by sitting on the last seat of cattle class just before first class starts. Then I get it for free. Numbs the pain of the several hundred pounds a month I hand over to.my train company.

ARoomWithoutAView · 11/03/2015 22:01

Anywhere north of Milton Keynes and it gets to over £800 pcm (standard).
That's a good idea Pickle

Virgin's wifi is truly terrible. I deeply resented it when I forked out whatever they charged for an hour's wifi because I had to send a couple of urgent emails. I just about managed to send them - and they weren't long messages - but that was all I achieved in my hour of wifi time: the rest of the time I was waiting for it to stop freezing.

chrome100 · 12/03/2015 06:03

£800 a month??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nannynome · 12/03/2015 06:18

You forgot the stupid power points that half the time don't work as well. I had a journey yesterday where i managed to get on the wifi but then couldn't use it all the way through because the power was out :( I had to go to a client meeting and charge everything there which wasn't very helpful!

Virgin have just taken over the lovely, publicly owned, clean, comfortable, reliable East Coast. East Coast that was actually returning money to the exchequer.

I am not looking forward to the change. I don't like virgin trains. Your post has not cheered me up as I head off to London this morning...

ARoomWithoutAView · 12/03/2015 21:55

Virgin redeemed tonight - long delays, broken down train earlier (not Virgin). The crew were brilliant, keeping people happy, serving teas, keeping people informed. The train manager even led people to vacated seats at first drop off, let people sit in first class with standard class ticket.

WiFi was still non-existent though. Sad

Why cannot Virgin Broadband talk to Virgin Trains and fix it. It isn't rocket science. ....oooohh...that's Virgin Galactic. Grin

Yes Chrome100, that's standard class, so I am a bit of a cheapskate. Its OK though, the extra £500 for first class isn't worth the extra. Its normally only civil servants going into London for training days that travel first class.

Complaints to virgin usually get freebies even if they don't actually get results....
