To keep 8 year old DS off school?

He had a bad dream last night and a very disturbed nights sleep.

I got him up and he's dressed, had a shower, but looked exhausted and unhappy.

would I be unreasonable to keep him off today? Or should I send him in and have him get an early night tonight? He is in year 3.

Send him in and early night tonight.

Your the parent. If you think you should keep him off, keep him off. I think we worry too much nowadays about how others will view our actions instead of following our instincts. If it helps i did the same the other day. Smile

I have done this for my yr 3 before, kept him off because he looks wrecked with tiredness. in my experience by lunchtime I bitterly regret it and it set a dodgy precedent with ds pissing around till all hours then claiming to be too tired for school. needless to say I send him in now.

Tell the teacher that he didn't sleep well and may be very tired. He/she can call you if they think he can't cope and needs a duvet day.

Hope he sleeps better tonight.
