They have just left.

I am in cafe nero enjoying the peace, i have scallops for my dinner and am going to dunelm mill thisafternoon while DD is at a party. I'm going to buy some lampshades fo our bedroom

I have clean bedlinen on the bed, two bottles of cava in the fridge, lots of girlie films on the sky recorded. And dd is going to two parties this weekend so i also have 4 hours alone time

WAHAHAY !!

You enjoy - sounds like you have a great plan set up!

I love the v rare times I'm on my own v much too and may have posted about this in the past

Koalafications · 07/03/2015 11:37

Sounds like a lovely day ahead.

Although, I would hate it if DH left for 4 days. I would be really scared at home alone and would miss him

AmysTiara · 07/03/2015 11:40

Haha enjoy yourself. I love time to myself.

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 07/03/2015 11:42

Ha ha. Enjoy OP.

I'd add a leisurely swim followed by a sauna, and stopping by the posh cheese shop on the way home.

Then a tub of Salted Caramel Haagen Daz and a couple of glasses of red, with my new Space NK candle.

Go on then, how are you cooking your scallops? I want to live eat vicariously.

trufflehunterthebadger · 07/03/2015 11:43

I will miss him but i love it when he is away. The house stays beautiful and clean and i don't have his filthy work clothes scattered around all over the place

I don't mind being alone, he works nights a lot so i'm used to it. But SIL2b (stag is BIL) lives with us so i won't be on my own anyway. We're having a girlie family weekend as my other BIL is also on the stag leaving me, MIL, SIL1 and SIL2b here

Cooked on the griddle with the gigantic king prawn i also bought while overexcited at the fishmonger. Will make a balsamic vinegar and caper dressing to eat with it. got some rocket and sweet cure herring to eat as well.

Followed by ben and jerry's peanut butter cup icecream that i got for a quid and washed down with cava

I love dp being away. Clean sheets, no dinner debate, guaranteed toilet seat down, control of the remote and radio, the ability to burn my smelly candles without any man farts to compete with. It's fab.

Love the bones of the man, but I crave my own space sometimes.

cardamomginger · 07/03/2015 11:51

DH is going away for business next week. Can't wait!!

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 07/03/2015 11:52

Oh truffle that sounds truly delicious.

In my fantasy fishmonger trip, I would also pick up some marinaded anchovies to nibble as a little horses duvets.

I need to work on my fantasies don't I?

Charlotte3333 · 07/03/2015 11:52

Sounds perfect, have a fabulous time!

mytitiferssungtheirsong · 07/03/2015 11:52

I'm a lp but occasionally exdp has stayed here to spend time with dd. Last time I couldn't wait for him to leave so I could have the sofa to myself, watch trash tv etc. And not have to speak to anyone after dds incessant chatter all day! I realise there may not be room in my life for a man anymore Grin although I do miss non dd cuddles!

Enjoy

maras2 · 07/03/2015 11:52

Sounds fab.I adore my husband of 40 years but oh boy what a treat when he's away for all of the reasons above.I'm always delighted to have him home though.Have a great weekend.

HeisenbergsBlueMeth · 07/03/2015 11:55

Oh yes, i love DP going away, i get so much done without him trying to distract me, i have a lovely bath, do my nails, watch trashy tv and can starfish on the bed.

Bliss

CalicoBlue · 07/03/2015 11:56

Have a lovely weekend. Did wonder about the two bottles of Cava for supper, but then you said you were not alone.

DH goes away overnight most weeks, but this week he is away for 10 days, I do have things planned, girl friends to supper etc. I even have one weekend with no DH and no kids!

DontDrinkandFacebook · 07/03/2015 11:57

Sorry to hijack ever so slightly, but I can't help myself.

It's not a 'stag'. A stag is an animal, not an event. It's a stag party.

Ditto there is no such event as a 'hen, it's a hen party.

And can someone please stop my mother from calling purple sprouting broccoli 'purple sprouting'.

And New Year's Eve is not New Year's.

etc.

DontDrinkandFacebook · 07/03/2015 11:58

And now I feel mean because I've just read the OP and I didn't mean to piss on your chips and I genuinely hope you have a lovely time in your girl-cave. Grin

Hmm
CatsCantTwerk · 07/03/2015 11:59

What a great thread! Brings a bit of normality to MN after reading all the 'My dp is going on a stag do,Im not happy about it, how can I stop him from going, pleeeasee tell me IANBU' Threads Grin

Oceanpurple1 · 07/03/2015 11:59

DH and dcs went away for the weekend last year & I brought dd's old High School Musical dance matt down from the loft (had been wanting to have a go on it for ages but was worried people would make fun of me) and spend a good deal of time trying to perfect my routine to 'Bop to the top'

Have fun! Grin

PacificDogwood · 07/03/2015 12:06

Oooh, can I come for dinner at yours, please?

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 07/03/2015 12:07

I also wondered about the two bottles of Cava for supper, but then I figured that you could always pop back to the shops again if you needed to? Grin
