Can anyone explain why it's so bloody irritating?

It's just model-face; most models are stood about all day having to look enthused, happy and glamourous, which is actually pretty boring and after a while all of them resort to their stock poses.

For some it's "model-face" (different models have different versions) for others it's hand on hip, or legs crossed at the ankle, or chin down but looking up at the camera.

Once you recognise the models you'll start seeing them in other brochures pulling exactly the same pose/look; modelling is not the fabulous world it's made out to be!

It is because they are meant to look they are saying something profound!

But irritating as it can be, they are asked to do it as it looks softer in print, than pursed lips.

I think it's part of looking active and like you are having a great time in your "sassy" "hotchpotch" outfit. Sometimes it's laughing, or looking like they are mid-conversation or going "oooh!". I actually prefer all these to the revolting lip-biting, pigeon-toed pose which just makes me think they are trying to look like a 6-year-old and is just wrong in so many ways.

I wondered if it applies to the men too, it does though like the women they have a variety of faces. I personally wouldn't have gone with the first pic on

In a similar vein, if one model in particular is modelling a bra for Bravissimo that I like, I buy it elsewhere. She irritates the shit out of me. I realise that says a lot about me,none of it good, but gah! I can't wait for her to get saggy or flabby so they drop her.
