To have succumbed to the allure of maternity trousers....

....at only 11 weeks. I will be comfortable at work this week! No more buttons digging into my already thickening waist. I'm going to look like the Hindenburg by 40 weeks aren't I? I did last time

YANBU! I cracked at about that time.

And no, I put on about a stone or so max. By 27w I'd only put on 5 pounds. It was just bloating!

Horrifically, I've got fatter since giving birth as I just sit around feeding DD and eating biscuits :(

ChocolateBiscuitCake · 02/03/2015 12:23

And enjoy the many, many months of wearing them after the birth...you will wonder why you waited till 11weeks! Far comfort than any regular trouser, pregnant or not!

Kerberos · 02/03/2015 12:25

YANBU!

Quite tempted myself some days (precious last born is 5...)

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks · 02/03/2015 12:26

YANBU in my second pregnancy I was in maternity clothes at 10 weeks. I was massive in that pregnancy, kept being asked if it was twins! Enjoy your comfy trousers.

BreakingDad77 · 02/03/2015 12:41

We had a mission with DW trying to find her some comfortable smart blue maternity trousers for work.

HairyWorm · 02/03/2015 12:44

I found it hard to give up maternity jeans after DD was born. They are the most comfortable thing ever invented.

farewellfigure · 02/03/2015 12:48

Enjoy it while you can and make the most of it. I hated giving mine up when DS was 1 and I went back to work

Cheby · 02/03/2015 12:49

YANBU. Maternity trousers are the best thing about being pregnant.

FeelTheNoise · 02/03/2015 12:51

I'm buying mat jeans today Smile I'm 12 weeks and have been in leggings since 5 weeks. I'm normally very much a jeans wearer. Mat jeans aren't always the nicest though Hmm

RatMort · 02/03/2015 12:51

I must have had a weird bump. I could never find maternity trousers that fit properly, either the under or over-the-bump variety. I lived in wrap dresses and non-maternity jeans I wore fastened under my bump.

Discopanda · 02/03/2015 13:05

YANBU, I've switched to sports bras instead of t-shirt bras now cos I'm 35 weeks and just can't get blimming comfortable. Even if you feel that you've put on a lot of weight now, it can even out so you won't necessarily be gigantic by the time you give birth.

Jengnr · 02/03/2015 13:09

I don't think the wee was dry on the stick when I had mine on.

MrsMook · 02/03/2015 13:11

I started buying mat wear from 8 weeks.

I was so pleased to slim into my mat jeans 3 months after the birth. They don't last me until the end of the second trimester.

EponasWildDaughter · 02/03/2015 13:25

Filling out early doesn't mean you'll be huge Flowers

I was feeling the pinch by 10/11 weeks and bought mat. tights etc then, but only put on a stone altogether during the whole preg. and lost more or less all of it at the birth last year.

--i was a stone over weight when i fell preg, and still have that stone to loose, however :))

fingersandwich · 02/03/2015 13:37

I'd wear maternity trousers all the time, if I could get away with it. Infact, I bought a maternity dress the other day and I'm not even pregnant... Grin

rallytog1 · 02/03/2015 13:48

Some people just bloat really early and then the bloat turns into bump. I was about the same size/shape from 10 weeks to 6 months.

worksallhours · 02/03/2015 13:49

Ahhhh ... maternity trousers are just so comfortable. I succumbed the first time at about 16 weeks. This time, I just started wearing them almost immediately; okay, I am only 6+4 and they fall down a bit, but I like that sense of not being restricted at all.

CuttingOutTheCrap · 02/03/2015 14:01

Ahh, I remember buying maternity jeans at about 10 weeks, and boring poor dh to death telling him eleventy million times a day how brilliant they were. Then did the same with maternity trousers for work about a fortnight later. Grin

FreeButtonBee · 02/03/2015 14:10

I feel better now - am 16 wks and felt like I was giving up by going into may wear last week. It's wierd this time as last time was twins and I just exploded in size so have no objective comparison as to how big I should get by when despite having been pregnant before. I've put on 10 lbs and slightly scared am going to be enormous !!

ZingNinjaRoll · 02/03/2015 14:16

after my 5th i gave up on normal clothes. he's just turned 5 and I don't own any non-maternity trousers that fit any more! Shock Grin
(we had 2 more since, DD almost 3, baby is 7 months)

so don't beat yourselves up about giving in. comfort is underrated! Wink

and congrats to all of you & good luck with all your pregnancies.Smile

FlabbyMummy · 02/03/2015 14:17

YANBU they are soooo comfy, I still sometimes wear maternity jeans, DD is 28 months old.......

MrsTedCrilly · 02/03/2015 14:31

I'm still in my maternity leggings and baby is 10 month.. Blush so YANBU but I probably am!

jbee1979 · 02/03/2015 16:11

I got maternity tracksuit bottoms in new look on Saturday for £15 - I wish I'd looked earlier - I'm 31 wks and my belly has been gaping out of my pj's for months now. needed something to wear at home when not at work and not going out!! Best £15 ever spent!! I am sooooo happy Grin

ApocalypseThen · 02/03/2015 16:17

I find the skinny leg ones hideously uncomfortable, but sister in law gave me some of her old maternity gear and today I'm wearing gap boot cut ones. The comfort is amazing.

Pastamancer · 02/03/2015 16:22

I can't find any that fit, they are either too tight or fall down. 39 weeks here and am sticking to non maternity jogging bottoms.
