Looking at the Pegida photographs, they seem to be overwhelmingly male.

Looking at the anti Pegida photographs, there seems to be a good smattering of female faces in the crowd.

Now, I don't want to make this into a sexist issue, but surely ignorance isn't limited to one sex. Why is it that there are so many more females on one side as opposed to the other?

ohfour that is actually quite an interesting question. I wonder if it is (correctly it would seem) assumed that the pegida side are more likely to be violent so women avoid the public/active part of it. Although you will note there is one English flag draped lovely there.

I'd also surmise a link with football violence. (Admittedly based largely on appearance) Mostly a male preserve. Indeed some of them are almost certainly there for the rammy not the politics.
