to ask you about vapeing

So, I have tried to give up smoking numerous times.
Succeeded last year on patches and mouth spray. However, I became very depressed. Thought about smoking all the time and eventually gave in.
My neighbour (a heavy smoker) has started vapeing (sp?).
He raves about it.
But would I be replacing one bad habit with another?
I want to eventually quit, do you think this would help?
My friend used e cigarettes and seemed to 'smoke' more as she hcould do it inside.
I would be really grateful for your opinions, thank you.

I smoked 20 a day for 20 years. Gave up 14 months ago and switched to vaping. I havent had a puff of a cigarette since, or felt like one.

I started on strong nicotine liquid and have cut down to the lowest nicotine gradually. I plan to switch to no nicotine in the next few weeks, and then will review vaping going forward.

For me, its the only thing that has kept me off the fags. My health has improved (and skin is better, teeth better), I have saved £££££ and I no longer stink Grin.

Vaping has been a life changer for me.

I smoked 20 a day for about 40 years. Lots of failed attempts to give up.

I have now been cig free for two & a half years, thanks to vaping.

My health has improved amazingly, due to the fact that I can now exercise properly.

No question is to daft to ask & there is no willy waving, just help.

I didn't even plan to quit smoking tbh, I started vaping so I didn't have to go outside all the time in the cold... but the vaping took over in about 2 days! - sitting watching tv vaping with a coffee - lovely! Going outside for a fag in the cold - fuck that! :D I gave my last fags away - something I never did before when actually trying to quit - always had to use them up before I could quit. I gave then away when I realised I had 14 in a pack that had bought nearly two weeks before! Usual 10 minimum a day smoker so quite a difference, and I hadn't even actively decided to stop!

Sneaky vaping!

I am another convert - it's been 5 months now. A friend recommended that I get a vape kit and slowly make the transition from fags to vape, but that didn't work for me as I would always choose fags over vaping.

So I wore patches for a few weeks, stopped smoking fags and whenever I got a craving I'd use the vape. Soon I started to really enjoy vaping, stopped wearing the patches and now just vape. It's so much better than smoking fags, it tastes nicer and my chest doesn't feel full of shit.

Great info here.

I started vaping in October and haven't even been tempted once to smoke a cigarette. I smoked 30 roll ups a day before that and had been smoking for 16 years.

I tried various ways of quitting before and nothing worked, if I wasn't vaping I would definitely be smoking so for me this is definitely the lesser of the two evils! Oh, and my skin looks better, my sense of smell and taste had returned, I have more energy and so far have avoided my yearly winter chest infection and cough.

I didn't feel crap when I gave up, I was really surprised actually as I expected to have terrible withdrawal symptoms. The only thing I seemed to get was a bit of heartburn which lasted a few days. Cigarettes contain tonnes of chemicals other than nicotine though so it's natural for your body to go through a slight detox but its nothing too terrible.

Been vaping 2 years myself. Dh is the same and I even introduced my ex to it with total success which really surprised me but the dc's are really pleased no more cigs. Just wish my dm would stick to it.
