To think MN is going to the dogs?

There is so much trolling, bitching and nastiness on here at the moment!

Am I wearing rose tinted glasses, because I don't remember MN being this bad, ever.

AIBU to think things seem to have gone downhill?

Not sorry about the tits then? Grin

Koalafications · 26/02/2015 20:59

But when was the last time you actually laughed out loud at a thread?

OttiliaVonBCup · 26/02/2015 20:59

Sorry, might have had some Wine.

OttiliaVonBCup · 26/02/2015 21:00

Actually.
Not sorry about the tits and about the Wine.

There.
I've said it.

Sparklingbrook · 26/02/2015 21:01

I have only ever properly cried with laughter once in 3 years on MN. Blush I tend to have 'a small chortle', but have never wet myself or spat on my keyboard.

OllyBJolly · 26/02/2015 21:01

But when was the last time you actually laughed out loud at a thread? 10 seconds ago at this one!

There is a lot of crap on here, but some Mumsnetters are just brilliantly sharp. Laugh out loud funny.

Lweji · 26/02/2015 21:01

Woof.

LaurieFairyCake · 26/02/2015 21:02

I think the trolls are much easier to spot

They're so mind numbingly thick Hmm

That weirdo today with his father abuses daughter, the marketing ones.

We've had way better and manipulative trolls in the past.

I do wish people would say on AUBU - "gosh yes, you are a bit" instead of "What a fucking cunt you are, how dare you come on here you SLAG" etc

usualsuspect333 · 26/02/2015 21:03

I laughed at the thread about the OPs DH calling her an attractive lady.

Some of the posts on that thread made me laugh.

OttiliaVonBCup · 26/02/2015 21:03

There was a thread that really made me laugh.
It was about some knickers that fell in the garden that belonged to the ground floor flat.
There was some lavender involved, though quite how I don't recall.

Jackieharris · 26/02/2015 21:06

I agree.

It seems a lot more judgemental and intolerant than I remember.

The fwr board seems to have died a death. I used to love the discussions there.

Relationships are as depressing as ever.

News and politics is all UKIP and paedophiles. Not nice reading.

I don't really see this place as somewhere I'd come to for support anymore. If you post anything sensitive you're accused of trolling. But then there are so many unbelievable threads, mostly by trolls!

It's a vicious cycle.

I suppose everything has its heyday and maybe mn's is over.

Lweji · 26/02/2015 21:07

I suppose everything has its heyday and maybe mn's is over.

Hyperventilates.

With tongue out. Woof.

LoofahVanDross · 26/02/2015 21:07

Was the wedding bridezilla in America thread a troll thread. I was reading it over the past couple of days and thinking things were getting so far fetched it had to be bollocks?

nickelbarapasaurus · 26/02/2015 21:07

place marking posts are unnoticeable when you are on the thread from the beginning.

I seem to recall my live birth threads was full of placemarkers, and people going "refreshing" for 3 whole days (sorry about that...)

Grin

placemarking is fine.

i like the wedding ones because they bring out other people sharing thei experience of bonkers bridezillas.

Pennies · 26/02/2015 21:08

Otilla - glad you loved the MF lip tint - it was fab wasn't it. I was on the marketing team back then.

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 26/02/2015 21:10

Lweji Grin

Koalo it was LemonDrizzleCunt that made me cry laughing.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 26/02/2015 21:10

This thread has made me smile. That's enough sometimes

I haven't really noticed if anything's got worse, though sometimes I think MNHQ is slightly off with their no troll "hunting" policy -
I think maybe we should be "allowed" to call a spade a spade - that seems very MN to me?

Crocodopolis · 26/02/2015 21:12

Hmph. I join Mumsnet and suddenly posters are all "ooh, so many trolls!" and "all of the good posters have left" and "there are no funny threads".

Sniff.

Not that I take it personally, or anything. Grin

Koalafications · 26/02/2015 21:13

Sorry, I meant laughed at what the OP had said. I laughed out loud earlier at a posters story about tripping over a pigeon.

I just rarely find a funny OP, maybe I'm just miserable.

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 26/02/2015 21:13

TheSecondComings minge thread made me laugh too, but that was a while ago too.

OP posts:
OttiliaVonBCup · 26/02/2015 21:13

It was bloody lovely, Pennies.
I found an old back up recently and I cried happy tears.

Which makes a difference from the usual goings on here.

Shame they killed it off.

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 26/02/2015 21:14

Ah, from the OP it has to be TSC and the cutter up pear post. Cutted up pear probably made me laugh the most, and I still laugh about it now even though it was a while ago.

OP posts:
Koalafications · 26/02/2015 21:14

But lots of other people are spitting tea over keyboards and waking their baby/DH/neighbour they are laughing so hard.

Sparklingbrook · 26/02/2015 21:15

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2259249-I-saw-a-clown-driving-a-car-today

That's the thread that made me cry with laughter. It was Tiggy's fault and Linerunner's.

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 26/02/2015 21:16

Wow! Just looked up cutter up pear and it was 2011! This is cutter up pear if you have not yet had the pleasure Grin
