to be worrying about food poisoning while pregnant

Awake all night with dodgy stomach and sick all morning-I am worried the cream in the potatoes last night was gone off or the reheated chicken wasn't heated enough... can it harm baby? Hospital just says stay hydrated but I am in a complete state.

I had a horrible tummy bug that lasted days when I was about 5m pg. GP was completely unconcerned about the baby, just told me to take it easy, rest and stay hydrated.Flowers

Don't panic! I'm 5 months pregnant and I had what was either food poisoning or Norovirus last week, couldn't even keep down water, couldn't eat for 36 hours. Am fine now. Babies are very hardy little things, just talk to your midwife, keep drinking water to stay hydrated, and get doctor if not recovered in a couple of days.

Don't worry! Baby is grand. Just you will feel extra shit being pregnant. It's only listeria I think that is a slight worry. 99% of reasons to puke are of no concern for baby.

I had food poisoning at 34 weeks pregnant, I ended up in MAU and was on a drip due to dehydration. I was very ill for a week. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks everyone just keeping small sips of water down. I am wondering how midwife can be so calm and not wonder about listeria? I am so fed up just over the flu and the hideous first trimester.
