Of my 12 yr old DD for making this video to help her best friends Mum, without anyone asking her :)

(& Cheeky, by hoping some of you lovely people might br kind enough to take a look & maybe even donate a little & share this elsewhere. My poor friend is still a long way off her target & loses all of her hair very soon & she is feeling very down about it all :( Blush )

Those of you who have taken a look & donated

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Flowers

Still a long way to go, but my friend was feeling really down, thanks to no more donations for over a week, until today, so you have already lifted my friends spirits a bit :)

I'm so sorry about your friend. But I question the funding of last ditch treatments in Mexico of all places, where there are hundreds of clinics offering unproven and illogical "cures". The likelihood of there being a viable treatment in Mexico that isn't available in Europe is negligable. I dont think its right to encourage terminally ill people to travel such a long way away from all their friends and family and waste their time and money.

I hope your friend finds some peace, whatever she does. And good luck, if this is your choice.

I've just donated Thanks . Tell your daughter what she has done is amazing and has reached at least one more person to donate. You are right to be very proud!

Thanks for your thoughts, I should clarify, the lady with Cancer isn't actually a friend of mine, I don't actually know her personally, but she is a long time good friend of my own friend Catherine, who is DDs best friends mum. It's my friend Catherine who is shaving off her long hair in the hope of raising funds for Sam. DD has met Sam & her children many times & dotes on the little girl.

I do know that they as a family have medical professional friends & have not taken this lightly, they've done their research thoroughly & from that they know that this treatment has a proven track record of success. There is no treatment here for the type of Cancer Sam now has, which is a late stage brain cancer that was missed as her doctors wouldn't take her headaches seriously enough until she started having seizures. I also have friends who live in Mexico & the medical system there is not as backward as some believe it to be & the sadly the UK just doesn't lead the way on this stuff any more, from what I know, like a lot of other countries they treat things both medically & holistically.

I do have another good friend with a different type of Cancer, again discovered late & as a result she was given 3 - 6 weeks to live, that was over 2 1/2 years ago, thankfully she is not poor & could afford to try other things along side her medical treatment, which was meant to be pain control & maintenance, but her tumours have shrank & her doctors have been amazed by it, so I personally wouldn't rule anything out just because it's not medically available here.

Thanks again

I've donated. Wonderful cause and what a lovely daughter and friend you have Thanks

RockinHippy · 25/02/2015 10:46

Sorry so slow to reply, my internet was down most of yesterday

Thank you so much Bagel I love the comment you left with your donation, my friend has been feeling very down & anxious over not raising enough funds & people ignoring her pleas on FaceBook etc, your comment was lovely & really helped to cheer her up & give her the confidence to keep plugging away Flowers

& Im very proud of DD doing this, her friend told DD that her mum was in tears as she was so touched by her video, happy tears of course, but DD was worried at first that she had somehow upset her
