AIBU TO ASK YOUR WISDOM?

The internet has failed me. This does not happen often so I would love to hear your opinions... The topic is a NON stop talker. The internet gave me a bizillion methods on how to deal with a non stop talker but that is not what I want to know. I want to know why?? Seriously any thoughts, I would love to know. The scenario is someone who will not stop talking about anything and everything - who when you very directly challenge them on their non-stop talking they literally will respond with 'I don't care' and then continue talking and interrupting anyone else who speaks. They are interesting, funny and clever. But do not care that they are only one talking. It's not just being chatty, its very extreme. Any ideas - NOT on how to stop someone incessantly talking but why someone might be this way?

No idea at all! I knew a guy like this - worked for the same large company as me - and people used to go to great lengths not to get 'caught' by him. It would always entail a long long listen with barely a breath taken between sentences or subjects. He must have known how others felt -y eyes always glazed over almost as soon as he started but no hint, no direct plea or accusation ever got through to him. I'm so glad I no longer work there!

Interestingly I know 2 people who do this.

One has bi-polar and she does it when in her full on times, she is like a wound up toy, just keeps going and a lot of it is verbal.

The other has very few social skills and boundaries, she is very unaware of other people and brings most conversations back to herself. She is part of a group where I am sort of a leader and I have had to learn to nicely curb her so that others can talk. With her it is really poor social skills.

the only person I know like this is also bi-polar and is like this when she is 'high'. It is totally exhausting to be with her!
