Something positive about him for a change (I quite like him I'll admit)

He's just done a "trews" episode on 50 shades and porn which was quite good but I can't link it from my phone!

Its on YouTube :)

TheHermitCrab · 20/02/2015 22:19

Those damn filthy icebergs!

He talks really fast, and slightly distracting wearing just a towel. Wink Not sure about the bun either. Grin

NutcrackerFairy · 20/02/2015 22:31

I didn't really like Russell Brand until he did Beak of Hate.

Now that was good Grin

Chertsey · 20/02/2015 22:37

I love the way he uses words, sometimes I like what he's using them to say sometimes I really don't.

I am a little bit scared that if he got a proper political mind advising him, he could easily be a future PM.

IVO his left wing views, I would love someone to an expose on his personal taxation. I'd love to know how much he's paying in relation to his income.

Sparklingbrook · 20/02/2015 22:42

I find him fascinating.

TheHermitCrab · 20/02/2015 22:44

He pulls off a bun better than me! Ha

I think his mind is too distracted to be pm. He'd get bored way too easily lol

I really like Russell Brand, he makes me laugh A LOT.

TheHermitCrab · 20/02/2015 22:53

Bloody coward! ;)

Grin Ok, I will go further and say I paid for front row tickets to one of his shows and laughed so much that my face hurt the next day.

Now I'm definitely running away.

TheHermitCrab · 20/02/2015 23:08

Haha quick! Scarper!

I came on this thread just to say how much I dislike him - he is thick, self obsessed, a ridiculous womaniser, sexist, vain, nasty (ie the Sachs phone call was downright cruel) inarticulate pillock.

I really can't stand him as you can probably tell. He is more annoying than other clebs because he actually thinks he has something intelligent to say and that everyone wants to hear what it is. He is pompous and takes himself wayyyyyy to seriously. It's really cringey watching him having a debate with anyone who is more intelligent than him (which is EVERYONE in the whole world)

He really, really does talk crap.

Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2015 00:04

So you aren't a fan then trolls? Grin

TheHermitCrab · 21/02/2015 01:59

He'd definitely fit in well on the mumsnet message boards that's for sure ;)

I like him. He's been a twat and a womaniser (the fucker snogged my sexy but young niece once) but I think he's grown up a bit and some things are bye the bye. I have immense admiration for people who've beaten addiction as it takes so much self inspection and honesty and self-investigation.

I like what he's trying to do,

TrollsTrollsEverywhere · 21/02/2015 08:48

I might grudgingly admit that it's always admirable when someone overcomes a serious addiction. I don't know what his views on drugs are now.

msshapelybottom · 21/02/2015 09:14

I like him. I admire people who can admit to their own faults and mistakes and start over. Good video, he seems more "normal" in those than when I've seen him on TV.

Chippednailvarnish · 21/02/2015 09:17

Watching him on Question Time was like watching a sixth former dropping their notes during a classroom debate.

bruffin · 21/02/2015 09:19

I like him
We met him the other week and let ds take a selfie with him. He was very nice and polite.

bakingaddict · 21/02/2015 09:33

I find him annoying but he does genuinely seems to want to engage in public debate on issues. While there are probably more articulate and knowledgeable people out there on some of the subjects I think he should have a platform because I believe that issues should be discussed by a cross-representation of society and not just so called experts or people derived from a certain category of society.

I find it disquieting that a lot of politics is being shaped by a certain type of individual i.e privileged privately educated old school network types that skew policy to favour their own demographic

Fuckup · 21/02/2015 10:19

I've got a lot of respect for the man (Russell brand.. not the oppressor Grin ) and look forward to checking that out. At least someone in the public eye is sticking up for the working classes and oppressed groups, good on him! The problem with politics is its been removed from normal society, we need better political education so that everyone feels that they have the right to an informed opinion and choice. People like Farage boil my piss because whilst they like to put on a facade of being a man of the people they are really not, the same elites who have dominated politics for ever in a silly disguise, with policies that seek to penalize the very people who they attempt to appeal to. Sorry completely off topic there. The point is we need people like Russell brand who are willing to stick their neck on the line for what they genuinely believe is right. OK he doesn't wear a suit and do public engagements but that doesn't mean he can't have an informed opinion.

Middlerose · 21/02/2015 11:37

I loved him when he did Big Brother. He is a very funny presenter.

BellsUpMyNose · 21/02/2015 14:35

slightly off thread but why as sachs not spoken to his gd since that phone call

Fuckup · 21/02/2015 17:44

I read in the newspaper that he was 'ashamed' which seems silly to me, but there might be more too it. I did think that whole phone call thing was well out of order.

TheHermitCrab · 21/02/2015 18:19

Nice some people share my opinion of him! Decent guy I reckon..

Sachs said he was ashamed of his daughters lifestyle (which the tabloids revealed much more of than brand and Ross ever could)
