Oooh, I have manky old Ugg boots. And some really beaten up black ballet shoes, they've done a whole school year.

BreconBeBuggered · 20/02/2015 22:43

Oh, my feet are disappointingly small too. Some of my shoes are super-manky and beaten-up, though. Would that not compensate?

Rabbishes · 20/02/2015 23:52

How would the buyer have your name and address? Ebay only gives the seller's username, not their name and address, doesn't it?

ILovePud · 21/02/2015 07:19

Ok so curiosity has got the better of me why are size 7 or 8 shoes considered perfect and size 3's considered too small?

My sister tried to sell a pair of lightly used gladiator sandals on EBay a while back. She got a message from a buyer who told her how much he loved her 'slave sandals' and, I quote, he would 'pay top dollar for any more shoes with the imprint of her lovely feet' Grin. She completely freaked out and ended the listing, but I told her she should have milked it a bit. I had several old shoes he could have paid 'top dollar' for!

Spadequeen · 21/02/2015 11:05

Ilovepud, think about it. How many men do you know with size 3 feet?

I've just been emailed by someone asking if a pair of shoes I'm listing are grubby on the insides and had been worn with bare feet!

I thought it was some kind of joke to start with then remembered this thread!

ukcrocus · 28/08/2016 12:42

I had pair of £8 supermarket plimsolls which I've worn into ground over 2 summers constant use. Was about to bin them but gave this a try - I've just got £28 plus postage! (Which has paid for a nice new pair of M & S shoes!!) Yes it's weird - but far less awful than the 'normal' folk sending dodgy photos over the net. Had couple of strange emails (but they're only about feet, I can live with that!) Have replied in a decent but flirtatious manner. Hubby fine about it - might as well sell them rather than bin them. Now I'm contemplating what other tatty shoes need chucking out

I once sold an old (as in, used but only a few times) good quality bra on ebay. I checked the buyer's details after. It was almost certainly a man as lots of other used bras bought and the user name was oldsmellie. I realised that I'd probably sold my used bra to a perv!

LovelySpread · 28/08/2016 13:26

I do this. The bigger the better in the buyers opinion. I have a separate account to my main ebaying account. They do want stuff that reeks and is well worn, I just wear old shoes for gardening and sell them on. Flat shoes are preferred (no idea why) and photos of bare feet and toes. It's paid for my new oven Grin

JenLindleyShitMom · 28/08/2016 13:29

Does anyone know what it is about smelly battered shoes? Why are they so popular and what the attraction?

WeirdAndPissedOff · 28/08/2016 13:38

I remember reading an article a year or so back by a woman who made a fortune selling used underwear. Apparently the less "fresh" it was the more she would get, and soiled pairs of knickers (crusty/skiddies/blood) could go for up to $50/$60 each.

Did wonder if it might be an way to amass a fortune, but couldn't bring myself to do it.

Oldraver · 28/08/2016 13:39

There are a few key words which bring up the more 'unusual' listings,

Scally was an eye opener

CalmItKermitt · 28/08/2016 13:45

When I worked for a chat line foot fetishes were common.

Had one guy who wanted me to describe a scenario where I'm sitting on a bus and my feet are all smelly and stinky 😏

I've told my mate about this cos she's a bit hard up st the mo. She'd make a killing because her feet absolutely stink!

CalmItKermitt · 28/08/2016 13:46

If I didn't find eBay so complicated I'd totally do it!!

squoosh · 28/08/2016 13:46

'trashed' seems to be a keyword.

Look what these 'beauties' (aka filthy old slippers) are going for!

Epifanny · 28/08/2016 13:55

I did this recently and only made £1.88 for a pair. Had lots of men (I assume!) messaging asking me to send private messages of my feet, describe how smelly they were etc so really not worth the money, ha ha! One guy sent me pics of himself - just what looked like a good looking guy on his twenties by the Hong Kong skyline. Who knew having stinking feet was the way to bag such hotties 😂

Ubercorn · 28/08/2016 14:22

I sold some boots on eBay and got questions about what the soles were like, what the lining was like and so on which I thought was all perfectly normal. Then I got questions about whether I'd be willing to send full length photos of me wearing them.....
