To take DS on the train tomorrow, recovered, but still tired from chicken pox

DS (6) got the pox on Saturday (first day of half term). He's had it pretty badly... totally covered in spots from head to toe, very sore and itchy, and pretty low and tired. Anyway, all our half term plans had to be cancelled (play scheme, Lego building exhibition, trips with friends) and he's been stuck at home while I've had to work. Poor chap. He's been as good as gold entertaining himself for 4 days straight now.

Anyway we'd planned to go to my Mum's on the train tomorrow. It's a two hour trip but not too awful. He's desperate to go and she's desperate to see him. He's still ever so tired, but we can just have a very quiet afternoon and chill out. DH is coming to collect us Saturday lunch time so we don't have to make the return trip.

AIBU to go ahead? He's definitely not contagious any more as all the spots are dry. I am a bit worried people might think otherwise when they see his spotty face, but I know he's fine. I'm just a bit worried it might be too much for him I guess and could end in tears!

Can you reserve seats on the train, I wouldn't do it if not as it will be busy with the schools being off. If you can book seats and take a tablet or phone and earphones so DS can chill out and watch a film I would chance it.

Oh heck I hadn't even thought about the train being busy for half term. Last time we went it was almost empty. I'll see if I can book it. Mind you it's a pretty non-eventful destination if that makes sense... it's not heading towards London or any attractions or the coast iyswim.
