WIBU to ask DP to go out and buy my list of foods I might be able to eat...

7 weeks pregnant and today nausea has taken the leap to actual vomiting. Have had a HORRIBLE day as DS (13 months) has been scared and cried every time I've been sick and I've felt guilty that I've been totally useless as a mum. I also had severe HG and ended up in hospital with DS and feel a bit terrified the same is going to happen again. Sad

DP bless him came home cooked dinner for DS and himself and sent me to bed. He did the bath and bed routine too and has just gone for his post work 'pop break'!

I'm FINALLY starting to feel like I could eat but only the thought of a specific list of things are not turning my stomach and we have none of them in...

Would I really be taking the piss if I asked him to nip to the shop and get me some bits? I would, wouldn't I?

Not at all. Ask very nicely. He sounds like a bit of a star, your DH.

MrsKCastle · 18/02/2015 20:11

Not at all unreasonable. I'm sure your DP's priority at the moment is keeping you as healthy and happy as possible.

kittycatz · 18/02/2015 20:12

YANBU

ChipDip · 18/02/2015 20:13

Yanbu, I'm sure he will be happy that you are feeling up to eating and will get them for you.

Rosieliveson · 18/02/2015 20:15

Def not U - send him out! My poor DH was at 24 hour supermarkets at ridiculous o'clock sometimes so I could eat whatever it was I fancied!
I, too, was incredibly sick so if I wanted to eat DH was thrilled Smile
Congratulations BTW, I hope the sickness passes soon

quesadillas · 18/02/2015 20:16

Nope, not at all unreasonable. I'm 6+4 and sent mine out today to do just that. Feeling your pain!

ReeseWithoutHerSpoon · 18/02/2015 20:17

Just out of interest, what's on your list of things you could eat?

Allstoppedup · 18/02/2015 20:23

Well...either he's mumsnet stalking me or he's just gunning for DP of the year.

He came out of the loo and said he was going to go to the shop to get me some Lucozade (I mentioned it hours ago) and did I want anything else?!

The rather eclectic list consists of:
Tinned sweetcorn
Tuc sandwich crackers
Orange lucozade
Brown bread - for toast
Crunchy peanut butter (for aforementioned toast)

Oh and thank you for all of the YANBU and kind words!

Definitely owe DP lots of cuddles as soon as I feel better. He is a good egg.

Ahh.God love him.I was just about to ask WTF a pop break was< old gimmer > but won't bother now. Grin

Allstoppedup · 18/02/2015 20:28

Hahaha! Hadn't seen that typo!

I now have an amusing image of DP nipping to the shed and donning oversized earphones to dance around to one direction! Grin

You poor love. Make sure he doesn't do what poor DH did. I could only eat pop corn, one brand, during a particularly bad week of pregnancy. He bought a massive box and the next day I moved onto other foods and was Envy about pop corn. He had to spend weeks eating pop corn. Grin

Rosieliveson · 18/02/2015 20:32

That is a crazy list!
From 5 weeks to about 21 all I ate was dry frosties, peanuts, peanut butter, marshmallows, lemonade ice lollies and salt and vinegar pringles. I survived 2 whole weeks on nothing but lemonade lollies and sprite! Confused

FannyFifer · 18/02/2015 20:33

Absolutely send him, peanut butter & toast really helped me get through feeling shite on first pregnancy.

ShadowsShadowsEverywhere · 18/02/2015 20:36

Oh this takes me back. When I was pregnant with DD we used to walk to tesco every evening to get food for dinner because I'd only be able to stomach a few things for a few hours so no pre planning could happen. We used to stand there in the meat aisle with me going green and him saying "mince?" Me going "BLEURGH", "sausages?" "BLEURGH", "chicken?" "BLEURGH", "fish cakes?" "Ooh yeah yum!" Grin

You have my utmost sympathy OP pregnancy sickness is the pits. Hope you enjoy the toast and lucozade!

Allstoppedup · 18/02/2015 20:39

He has returned and has successfully hot everything on the list.

A true hero among men!

He also got a pack of pickled onion monster munch which wasn't on the list but I now realise was exactly what the list was missing! Grin

It is a very 'pregnant' list- With DS I went off food for weeks and could literally only stand skittles.Blush

Further down the line I went crazy for cauliflower, (we ended up with a surplus when this passed!), tatziki and I ate an elephants bodyweight daily in clementines by the last month! I do think Tuc crackers made an appearance too.

OP posts:
DancingHat · 18/02/2015 21:46

Surplus when this passed is how we ended up with a fridge full of hummus and a cupboard full of Heinz tomato soup when I was pregnant!

What a star he is Wine Flowers Brew Cake Biscuit whatever he wants Grin

Hope you get the help you need soon. Don't be afraid of asking for medication early this time.

nocoolnamesleft · 18/02/2015 23:48

Sympathies. But, more importantly, does your DP have a brother?! :-p

StetsonsAreCool · 19/02/2015 04:42

Your DP is amazing!!

When I was pg with DD I didn't really have sickness or food aversions/preferences, but with DS I felt so sick for ages! For about 6 weeks right at the start I went vegetarian, and during my most nauseous couple of weeks I could only eat oranges and chips. Literally the only two things that went down for two weeks. I know DH was really worried about me, and if I'd have given him that list he'd have been round the shops in a flash.

StetsonsAreCool · 19/02/2015 04:44

Forgot to say Congratulations!

Withershins · 19/02/2015 08:24

When pregnant I once sent ex partner out for Chocolate muffins, but only the ones from the Isle of Wight ferry would do, so YANBU.

I remember eating prawn cocktail flavoured crisps most days during one of my pregnancies. I had never liked them before and have rarely eaten them since, although the DC I was expecting at the time absolutely loves them!

YADNBU and your DP sounds lovely. I hope this stage of pregnancy passes quickly for you, Op.

Littlef00t · 19/02/2015 10:53

I remember having a meltdown because DH had inadvertently eaten the last banana and that was the only thing that would stop me being sick. Another time I was convinced I had bought some bananas but couldn't find any. Was tearing round the house willing a bunch to come into existence. Think I ate about 20 a week for about a month.

Feminine · 19/02/2015 11:02

I had horrendous sickness with my first (the other two also) but this was the worst.
I lived off ice cold chocolate complan.
In my second pregnancy l could eat a bug more, but... If l ate mashed potatoes it had to come with rice. Confused
Congratulations!
