To drink this prosecco?

In hospital after c-section yesterday.

Have a wonderful baby boy who is currently asleep after a mammoth 2 hour feeding session. The lochia pain! Argh.

I can't take any opiate based painkillers due to allergy, so codeine /diamorphine/tramadol out. They have given me paracetamol and diclofenic, which are barely touching it. Pain!

However, a small glass of this celebratory prosecco someone brought me might take edge off....

AIBU?

You had a section yesterday and are on social media type things.Kudos to you I could barely speak.

Have a small glass. Are you in hospital still? I want a hospital that gives out prosecco Grin

orangefusion · 13/02/2015 21:30

Prosecco is not in order, you need the real mc coy, nothing less than decent French champagne will do. A small glass for you and your dp and I can drink the rest:)

I will be flamed for this.

treaclesoda · 13/02/2015 21:32

You have my deepest sympathy. The post cs afterpains was some of the most horrific pain I've ever experienced.

Congratulations on your baby.

I'd drink the Prosecco personally...

molyholy · 13/02/2015 21:33

YANBU. Enjoy and congratulations Wine

PacificDogwood · 13/02/2015 21:33

Congratulations! Thanks

I'd drink it too -toast the safe arrival of your new baby!

Rowanhart · 13/02/2015 21:34

Ladies, it's gone.

Once I got the first okay it was halfway down my neck. I've always bowed to peer pressure Wink

I am now lying in bed in a slightly less painful/ more happy state...

Anyone got brandy...?

After DS2's emCS at 31 weeks, DH brought some bubbly to the hospital the following day. We shared Grin
Fond memories.

BadgersNadgers · 13/02/2015 21:46

Well done.... Hopefully it will help with getting your bowels working again - I swear the intestinal spasms were the worst part

Awww congrats on drinking the Prosecco

Oops congrats on your new baby too Grin

mommy2ash · 14/02/2015 00:04

im clearly the odd one out but i wouldn't drink in hospital a day after having a baby.

congrats on the baby though and i hope you feel better soon.

MistressMerryWeather · 14/02/2015 00:10

Well, OP is without the pain medication most women have after a CS, I think she is doing amazingly well. I got stronger stuff for stitches with DS2.

It's not like she is doing shots. :o

Congrats on your bah Rowan, I wish you a speedy recovery!

kippersmum · 14/02/2015 00:30

Congrats on your baby & enjoy your fizz. Quite frankly the tramadol I had after breaking my leg was way stronger than prosecco!!

FightOrFlight · 14/02/2015 00:36

Down in one!

Congratulations btw Flowers

MoanCollins · 14/02/2015 00:38

OMG, so glad you did it, you must be in so much pain and one glass won't hurt. I can't believe how brave you're being.

laughingmyarseoff · 14/02/2015 09:21

YABU, that's far too small a bottle, send someone out for another :)

Congrats OP

Dakiara · 14/02/2015 09:50

Congrats (and sympathies on the naff painkillers - was only given paracetamol here too, should see pain get better by third day if that helps any. X)!
