Those ones that after you've made a decision to go to the counter come and try to find holes in your reasoning and bug you to use the machines even if its completely not relevant..

Today I had one telling me about my card withdrawal limit and probing to try to upset my 'I need to go to the counter' decision to try to upset it .Then told me to order a pin when I don't want to. Bloody annoying.

I don't know. One chap the other week was very useful for reading out my account number off my card because I'd forgotten my reading glasses. However, had I gone to another bank where I have an account, I could have just given the cashier behind the counter my card and the cheque and they would have done everything for me.

Actually, YANBU.

There's usually one walking around in at my small local branch at opening time. It doesn't even have a machine. It's purely to wind up the punters, I swear.

I hate this too.

In my case I physically cannot use their machine that allows you to access your account to see balance/view three months statements or deposit cheques. Last time I got upset - bad day for other reasons, and being told patronisingly staff would help me tipped me over the edge into snapping I didn't need to be publicly humiliated and everyone sodding seeing me struggling and being treated like a child because my arthritis means I cannot use the machine and it doesn't matter how bloody patronisingly someone talks to me. it was really embarrassing I don't usually lose it like that but just snapped. I've not been asked since.

In my branch the reason is staff cuts. They want one person only on the counter so by 'encouraging' use of the machines it helps them prove the extra staff aren't needed Hmm

We've also had wifi installed in the bank for Internet banking in branch Confused honestly how many people go to the branch to do internet banking?!?

YANBU
I hate them. I always say if they want to be helpful to go open a counter but its not their job Hmm
One man in the queue told her he couldn't use the machine and she kept pestering until he was forced to tell her he was withdrawing 2k and if he got mugged he would hold her responsible as the whole queue had heard what he was withdrawing Grin

Incidentally I opened an exact thread once and Was mostly flamed for being U and cruel.
how times change!!
