to not fancy Jamie Dornan?

He's a bit too clean cut while also being slightly seedy? Haven't read 50 Shades and don't intend to see the film. Maybe it's just a hangover from watching him in The Fall and hating the character (obviously) and also the whole show really - couldn't understand Gillian Anderson's character's obsession with him. Do people really fancy him?

I'm struggling to see him as anything other than a psycho serial killer after The Fall.

I won't be watching the movie anyway if its even vaguely like the book (which remains the biggest pile of rubbish I've ever read and was a waste of a few hours of my life). I'm sure it will shoot him to superstar status though.

His character in The Fall is so revolting, it is very hard to fancy him anymore.

Fifty Shades will prove to be career suicide for him.

atticusclaw · 13/02/2015 08:40

I'd never heard of dakota johnson and she doesn't look like a movie star at all but just read that she's the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffiths which explains the leading role having come from "nowhere".

Ilovehamabeads · 13/02/2015 08:45

He doesn't do it for me, plus I had to google him! But then the book was a shower of shite anyway and no actor could make it good imo.

Sparklingbrook · 13/02/2015 08:46

I wouldn't. He looks like a Poundland Colin Firth. Plus he's no Rob Lowe.

Trills · 13/02/2015 08:53

He's alright.

If I went on an online date and he showed up I wouldn't be upset.

Kachan · 13/02/2015 09:00

Haha Sparklingbrook! I just saw a clip of the film in BBC and I thought that without the beard he looked like Colin Firth but a Colin Firth who had shrunk in the wash or melted in the oven a bit.

CelibacyCakeAndElevatorMuzac · 13/02/2015 09:03

Don't fancy him as Christian "I'm a cunt" Grey.

Didn't want to fancy him in the Fall, but the tall, dark, brooding thing did have me at odds with myself

He was on Graham Norton (as said earlier) and he seems like a really lovely chap.

Apparently after the nasty scenes in The Fall he'd apologise to the female actors.

ginmakesitallok · 13/02/2015 09:03

Sorry, but I'm not seeing the wonky eyes

CelibacyCakeAndElevatorMuzac · 13/02/2015 09:04

Oooo gin absolute phwoar.

Bambambini · 13/02/2015 09:08

Never seen him in anything but just googled some images - I think he's actually rather lovely. Looks a bit like a young Colin Firth.

Bambambini · 13/02/2015 09:12

Oh, just seen others think he's like CF - so I'm not alone! He's way hotter than CF.

Sparklingbrook · 13/02/2015 09:13

Colin Firth way better though.

LayMeDown · 13/02/2015 09:15

Are you blind? He's gorgeous. How old is he? I'm probably too old to be fancying him.

Sparklingbrook · 13/02/2015 09:19

OMG do I have to post my Rob Lowe pic to give you the benchmark of gorgeous? Grin

Kachan · 13/02/2015 09:20

The original and the best.

atticusclaw · 13/02/2015 09:25

Now Rob Lowe, he is gorgeous

He walks like a duck. YANBU.

oldgrandmama · 13/02/2015 09:45

Ooh, I love him (in a platonic, grandmotherly sort of way). But shan't see 'Fifty Shades'. Read the book, in an 'ironic' way and it gave me the best laugh in years. The Story of 'O' it ain't!

He was brilliant in 'The Fall' - and yes, he had 'dead' eyes in the role.

IsadoraQuagmire · 13/02/2015 16:24

He looks pretty repulsive to me! I didn't think I'd ever seen him in anything, but I just realized, after Googling, that he played a tedious character in Marie Antoinette (the Sofia Coppola film)
I enjoyed the film apart from his scenes, I fast forwarded as much of him as possible!
