Exhausting, privileged, learning.

I am a student nurse. I have done a 13.5 hour day today, but it was amazing. I had a patient who is expert in her disease and she honoured me by telling me all about it from diagnosis to where she was on admission today, totally for my learning, which she understood from the start.

I was also working with a fabulous nurse and being given all sorts of learning opportunities.

Now, tell me yours please.

Discopanda · 12/02/2015 18:13

Achey, tired, hungry.

I'm nearly eight months pregnant so pretty much constantly hungry.

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 12/02/2015 18:14

Todays entry...

So many meds

Come back from doctors with prescription for buscopan, omeprazole, good ol' cocodamol and amitriptyline. Trying to rule out a few more issues. Feeling very tired.

ThatBloodyWoman · 12/02/2015 18:22

Walking.
Vegetables.
Pineapple.

I've had a lot of walking to do today,to-ing and fro-ing,and I'm really trying to up my 5 a day -so at the moment I feel full up with veg,and I inadvertently ate pretty much a whole pineapple -the crown of which I am now going to try to grow.
Busy day full of simple pleasures!

brilliantsunshine · 12/02/2015 18:26

Fun, Messy, busy

Took my 1 year old to a baby group then went shopping then got home and cooked dinner and tidied up and just sat down. Dd got baked beans everywhere at lunchtime and has just smeared yoghurt in her hair as usual. But it's always fun with her around!

Moonraker37 · 12/02/2015 18:28

Vomit, Waitrose, Toddler

About sums it up! (Only went in to get my free coffee, that'll teach me)

VulvaVoom · 12/02/2015 18:32

depressed. weary. hopeful.

Off work with my depression. Have just been offered a new AD and possible referral to MH team.

Darling toddler is in a 'I'll say no to anything and have a massive strop about anything phase' hence the weariness.

And hopeful, because I feel like perhaps I'm being listened to by the doctors now and maybe things will change for the better.

Frustration. Nightmare. Poorly.

I have a chest infection and feel dreadful. I had to go in to work so they could deliver a piece of furniture to me and the day turned into a kafkaesque bureaucratic nightmare. I couldn't make up the ridiculous crap I've had to put up with today. And to yoo it all off, it's not the right piece of bloody furniture.

Difficult, stressful, rewarding

I'm on the governing body of my dc special school. Today I have been on the appointments panel interviewing teachers for a vacant post. Difficult to pick one over the others and stressful as there is a lot at stake for everyone - rewarding to be part of such a wonderful school.

desertmum · 12/02/2015 19:41

absolutely fucking awful

had one of my beloved dogs put to sleep today - only 2 years old but with a chronic bone condition that couldn't be kept under control. Devastated and broken hearted. Been crying all day. I know compared to other people's problems it's minor but in our house today it is the end of something special.

Work, walk, wine

Early start at work but managed to finish early too.
Walked while listening to downloaded Radio 4 comedy to get to my 12000 step
Now enjoying wine that darling DH produced when I returned home

Idontseeanysontarans · 12/02/2015 20:07

Fucking toilet training.
Stopped once as DD2 wasn't ready, we made a really good start this week but she had a messy accident that upset her today and I think has given her an anxious stomach ache. Cue her getting really upset the next time she got on the toilet. Plus she hates the potty and refuses to sit on it so I can't even go down the 'sit on potty and watch TV' route.
Poor thing, we will overcome though!!

Nocturne123 · 12/02/2015 20:08

Tired
Sore
Motivated

I have a 21mo and 5 mo who will not nap during the day so I'm exhausted

My new drugs for rheumatoid arthritis aren't working so most of my joints are ceasing up again

I finally decided my new goal . I'm going to do my grade 8 piano exam next year .

cleanmyhouse · 12/02/2015 20:09

innapropriate work crush.

He's 23, I'm 39.

One of my colleages told me she thought he had a crush on me about 6 months ago. I had absolutely no interest whatsoever, I'm notinterested in younger men. Then, after the christmas party, where we got very drunk together, I find myself seeking him out every day. Today I realised I have a MASSIVE crush on him.

DISASTER.

Penguinsaresmall · 12/02/2015 20:14

Painful
Scary
Relief

Have a thread going ATM about my dental abscess treatment. But it's all over now - can't wait until I'm allowed alcohol to celebrate!

OublietteBravo · 12/02/2015 20:17

Attention to detail

I've been sorting out the pre-reading for a big meeting next week. I've been finding and cross-checking details all day.

binspin · 12/02/2015 20:17

Essay, relief, lunch.

Also a student nurse. I was up till the early hours finishing an essay.

Relief that it's finished!

Lunch out to reward myself!

Now time to chill before next placement and diss Sad

PeppermintPasty · 12/02/2015 20:19

Thrilling, flirtatious, typical!

Haha, I'm going to somehow squeeze the fun I had today into your thread!

So, I binned my awful, abusive ex almost 18 months ago, swearing off men since then, and being thoroughly happy about that, about being free.

Never seen anyone I was remotely interested in anyway. Then yesterday I met a man through my work, and today, he totally flirted with me for most of the day and I did the same AND IT WAS BLOODY GREAT!

So...thrilling to think I would see him today, as I had immediately marked his card yesterday and quite fancied him.

Flirtatious today as hoped...but...

...oh I love this...he lives in TORONTO and is only here for two more days!!

FML.

Actually, this last fact is probably why I find him so attractive Grin

Phew. Thank you for giving me the outlet for this nonsense Wink

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 12/02/2015 20:25

Disaster from begining.
I woke to find i'd had a text from facebook with a reset password code- I hadn't tried to change my password then couldnt log in for ages- somebody tried to hack in.
Then my car refused to start.
Eventually it did, in my job (HV) we test babies hearing- to do our daily checks we have to test our own ears- the probe came off and got stuck fast in my ear drum.
No time to worry about that off to first visit, not in hence lots of phoning around different professionals.
Went back to office to have ear probe fished out by colleague with tweezers.
Did a very busy clinic, no time for lunch.
Home now and my mobile is as flat as a witches tit, ive only left my bloody charger at work!!
Its been a bloody nightmare day!!

Madge404 · 12/02/2015 22:12

Blissful, quiet, calm

Five days into the first week of adoption placement and we have happy, fed, sleeping LOs upstairs, quietly asleep. Glass of wine in hand.
