Exhausting, privileged, learning.

I am a student nurse. I have done a 13.5 hour day today, but it was amazing. I had a patient who is expert in her disease and she honoured me by telling me all about it from diagnosis to where she was on admission today, totally for my learning, which she understood from the start.

I was also working with a fabulous nurse and being given all sorts of learning opportunities.

Now, tell me yours please.

Work, tired, sad

I'm feeling a bit down...worked today from 8.30-10pm (so the work and tired bit). Just got in and the kids (expected) and dh (not expected) are in bed so the house is quiet.

I just feel a bit woe is me and lonely. Would have been nice to chat to DH for a bit this evening :(

Susiesue61 · 11/02/2015 22:36

Ill, touched, shattered

I have a horrible cold for the first time in ages, on a week of much awaited annual leave
Dd and the 2 Ds made DH and I a beautiful collection of photos for DH 's birthday, all a secret, helped by MiL
Worn out from above cold, and having DSis and her babies staying

Mrsjayy · 11/02/2015 22:38

Postchildrenpregranny · 11/02/2015 22:39

Exhausted-did 6.5 mile walk
but satisfied-first I've done since knee op last summer
Happy-both DDs confirmed coming home this weekend . Family meal out planned for belated celebration DD2 birthday.

Vagndidit · 11/02/2015 22:39

Roller coaster ride.

Dealing with some very personal, troubling news; DS is having trouble at school; trying to move house while is going down.

kittentwo · 11/02/2015 22:40

content thankful guilty

Life is great better than its been for ages. Found out someone I know has cancer. Feels strange that when you are having the best of times someone else is having the worse. my rose tinted spectacles have cracked.

Satisfying
Empowering
Happy.

Satisfying was (in retrospect) doing boring household chores that should have been done weeks ago but are now done

Empowering: Going for my swim & ending up in a lane with someone who was just a bit faster than me so I swam faster & did my swim (1K) in record time.

Happy - Wolf Hall & Mark Rylance.

I have had a great day.

Talking
Watching
Talking

Talking on a course about our welsh project, teaching welsh through different areas of the curriculum.

Watching my class work their socks off all afternoon on their stories.

Talking lots more at parents' evening til half 5.

FarelyKnuts · 11/02/2015 22:43

Tired frustrated angry

All the same situation or various branches of it actually. Work situation where I am tired because I didn't sleep well last night because I was having nightmares about it. Frustrated because I don't usually "bring" work home with me emotionally and angry because I had a disagreement with my boss who I get on with well and can 99% of the time debate issues with perfectly adequately until we reach a mutual understanding and she just completely overrode me and pulled the "we're handling it this way because I'm the boss" card which she never has before and I know it is because of something another dickhead colleague has done that has nothing to do with me!

Aggghhh

Tennis birthday relaxing

ThreeQuartersEmpty · 11/02/2015 22:48

Our cat missing.
Sad
He has disappeared off the face of the earth.

GrouchyKiwi · 11/02/2015 22:56

Surprisingly good, yay!

Had a crap night's sleep because the baby woke every hour. Yesterday DD1 was awful, and I hated how I responded to it.

But today DD1 was lovely, we had fun together, I didn't overreact to her normal toddler behaviour, the baby was happy, I didn't feel tired, and the dinner I cooked was delicious.

maninawomansworld · 11/02/2015 22:59

Tired:
Lambing time on the farm.. i have spent most of the last 2 weeks in the lambing shed (happily has wifi hence why I'm on mn at 23:00).

Optimistic:
It's nearly over, the vast majority of them have been born and I can get back to normal(ish) sleep patterns.

Pleased:
Lambing has been really successful this year as has most of the farm - I grew the best wheat EVER last year , even my father conceded that it was better than anything he grew in 40 years farming.
DW has just ordered a new car.... Yep it's a rangie (total stereotype)!!!
Joking aside, I only took over full time 5 years ago so it means a lot to me that I'm making a success of it. Father came over to see me earlier on and I was sat in the barn with hundreds of healthy lambs all around me, I could tell he was pleased that his life's work is in good hands.

lollygagger · 11/02/2015 23:01

scary, rewarding, hilarious
svary- teaching for first time on a diabetes course
rewarding - felt like I'd accomplished something with my day and made a difference to people's lives
hilarious - ds 4yr old showed me how he learned to wiggle his eyebrows. I laughed until I cried Grin

Summerisle1 · 11/02/2015 23:02

Concerned, refreshed, creative.

Another vital member of cast gone off sick!

Had great walk with friend with most enjoyable hour having coffee afterwards.

Useful rehearsal inspired me to get on with writing scene required by Sunday.

RueDeWakening · 11/02/2015 23:03

Toddler wrapped, ouch.

Bastard DH went to work with the pushchair in the boot of the car, so I had to wrap the toddler to do the school run (hour long round trip). Have done something to my neck thanks to said toddler leaning all ways but upright the whole fecking way.

Waltonswatcher · 11/02/2015 23:04

Full of crap
Son has Tourette's and OCD
Today he's been struggling .
But I'm happy and very proud .

sosix · 11/02/2015 23:07

Summerisle1 · 11/02/2015 23:10

That was a great post maninawomansworld.

Just like The Archers before It Went Bad!

beautyfades · 11/02/2015 23:11

Sad, Awkward, repetitive, false. Sad as I found out a friends mum had passed away last nite. Awkward because I had an argument with my mum last night then needed a lift this morn. Repetitive hoovering the same carpet over and over in work. And false the chat with the slime ball who hangs round outside were I work!

pourmeanotherglass · 11/02/2015 23:12

lovely, chilled, tiring.

I work 4 days a week, Weds my day off. Went to an art class, did lots of gardening, did some housework, cooked dinner, went out for wine with friends. Lovely day, but didn't stop much.
