To think those bastards at Ben & Jerry are keeping all the best flavours from us

Are we not good enough?

Why have we got the same boring small selection of flavours, while the US/Canada get all the special editions? Who keeps buying Baked Alaska - it's rubbish and we could get it replaced with this.

And they discontinued Chubby Hubby Angry

nilbyname if your in the UK your out of luck according to Ben and jerrys website the only place you can get chunky monkey is in scoop shops ie the cinema.

I know this because after reading this thread I spent 2 hours last night searching for it..... its not nice of you all to talk about yummy ice cream when heavily pregnant women can read about it but not buy what she wants Sad

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 10/02/2015 16:02

oh how I wish they'd bring Chubby Hubby back - I loved that flavour

DialsMavis · 10/02/2015 16:48

Green & Black's Raspberry and white chocolate is delicious

RhinestoneCowgirl · 10/02/2015 16:52

I loved the Full Vermonty, nuts and mapley goodness.

IAmAPaleontologist · 10/02/2015 17:06

I've still not forgiven them for getting rid of the oatmeal cookie one. Though i do frequently occasionally dabble in that one with the salted caramel core. Just for research purposes you understand.

nilbyname · 10/02/2015 17:17

You're right, poor dh spent a frantic 10 minutes in the freezer aisle and came home with-

Hagen das chocolate with caramel salted caramel pieces and praline pieces. It's pretty blimmin awesome!

RainingSocks · 10/02/2015 17:26

I've visited the B&J factory in Vermont. They had a 'cow-viewing platform', which turned out to be exactly that, a raised wooden deck looking over a fence into a field of cows. I went to have a look at the cows even though I grew up in a house that overlooked a field of cows. Hmm I can't remember why I thought it was a good idea to visit it at all, I don't even eat ice-cream because I'm lactose intolerant.

squoosh · 10/02/2015 17:27

Haagen Dazs do an amazing vanilla and florentine ice-cream that's been on special offer in Waitrose.

Woahbodyforrrrm · 10/02/2015 17:34

Can someone start a petition we can all sign, and send it to them and if anyone from my diet club asks, you didn't see me!!

whothehellknows · 10/02/2015 17:54

What we NEED is an MN panel to conduct further in-depth research into each of the flavours and offer feedback as to their suitability for the British Market.

Please, let this be a thing.

I'll sign.

Wibu of me to make DP drive the 30 mins armed with a large tub to the nearest cinema to us that sells chunky monkey.

I reckon it's entirely reasonable since I'm 34+2 weeks pregnant but thought I'd check before suggesting it to him Wink

TheRealAmandaClarke · 10/02/2015 18:19

Need you ask smiling?

mickeyfartpants · 10/02/2015 19:44

At the b&j festival they had a flavour graveyard with all the flavours in it that never took off. There was a raspberry chocolate brownie one that I loved sooooooo much.

anyway more on the festival... it was a tenner, it had a top line up, finished at a reasonable hour and you got FREE ben & jerrys all day. THATS what I want them to bring back!!!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 10/02/2015 20:08

I need to go to a b&j festival Shock

lemonpoppyseed · 10/02/2015 21:33

TheRealAmandaClarke - glad to hear the Baileys flavour is still around! We have coffee HD in Canada, it's DH's favourite.

OctoberMoon · 10/02/2015 22:24

This is the best thread I have ever seen. I, too, am outraged that the bastards don't take our needs into consideration.

dreamingofblueskies That is my absolute dream to do that tour. Was it fun, did you taste loads of flavours? If you don't mind me asking did you stay in Vermont? I may be going to Boston later this year & am wondering if I get to the Ben & Jerry's factory for the day from Boston?

OctoberMoon · 10/02/2015 22:28

And the flavour I was in love with a couple of years back had chocolatey peace signs in. Now I can't find it anywhere Confused Why, oh why do they do this????

Cleanbean · 10/02/2015 23:17

October, it's doable but would be a very long day. It takes about 3-3.5 hours to drive from Boston to Waterbury, VT. Is it possible for you to stopover or do you need to get there and back in a day?

wobblyweebles · 11/02/2015 00:26

I just had Pistachio Pistachio for dessert.

If you're going to do the drive October, I'd go there via Hanover, then on the way back drive through the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Then across to Portland Maine, see some lighthouses, and back down the coast 2 hours to Boston. But take a couple of days at least to do it.

Oh My Apple Pie is amazing!!

Although my all-time favourite is now Satisfy My Bowl. SO tasty and available here!

TheRealAmandaClarke · 11/02/2015 07:23

lemonpoppyseed Envy

TheRealAmandaClarke · 11/02/2015 07:28

I am so getting back into making ice cream. If i come up with the perfect combo maybe B&J will head-hunt me and let me live in the magic factory in Vermont.

We need a Web chat for them to explain themselves!
