To think those bastards at Ben & Jerry are keeping all the best flavours from us

Are we not good enough?

Why have we got the same boring small selection of flavours, while the US/Canada get all the special editions? Who keeps buying Baked Alaska - it's rubbish and we could get it replaced with this.

And they discontinued Chubby Hubby Angry

You can keep your fudge, thanks - I'm all about that speculoos one - yes please!

My all-time favourite is the Full Vermonty.

SPECULOOS. I NEED THE SPECULOOS!

PsychicCaramel · 10/02/2015 00:52

I'm pretty miffed that they appear to have discontinued Cherry Garcia

lemonpoppyseed · 10/02/2015 01:01

I am lucky enough to live in Canada; we get some, but not all, of these flavours.

I am more of a Haagen Dazs person. My all-time favourite HD flavour is Baileys. Do they still sell it in the UK? I have never seen it on sale here...

Cleanbean · 10/02/2015 01:31

I used to live in Vermont and we could get factory seconds for $1 a tub! I gained a lot of weight living there!

crazycanuck · 10/02/2015 01:37

But it's not a Canadian company, they were founded in Vermont and I'm pretty sure Unilever owns them now, and they're British-Dutch. So you only have yourselves to blame. Grin

Chips1999 · 10/02/2015 01:40

Op yanbu! How unfair, I'd love to try those different flavours!

TheHermitCrab · 10/02/2015 04:49

NOTHING beats the Phish Food flavour!

Sunnyson · 10/02/2015 05:56

Couch potato is unreal!!! Salty crisps covered in chocolate with salted caramel whirls... Mmmmm

TheAnalyst · 10/02/2015 06:04

I enjoy all types of frozen creamed product, including "froyo" and Ben & Jerry's, with their emphasis on chunks (a strategic direction taken because one of the founders has anosmia).

I was shocked to learn that my favourite Red Velvet Cake flavour was not available in my home country, even though Red Velvet Cake is presumably confused with flock wallpaper there.

Rebecca2014 · 10/02/2015 06:18

This reminds me of the McDonalds in the USA, they have so many burgers yet we only get 3 or 4 beef burgers. Are us English so dim we cannot handle the range of choices? or maybe it is due to lack of space??

TheAnalyst · 10/02/2015 06:25

There is definitely a strong perception in the US that British food is deadly dull, even barely edible, and British people will go into fits of apoplexy if you deviate from any sort of accepted norm.

It is an incorrect perception - just like Brits who think that American food is all about horrible synthetic cheese and badly processed meat. But it does exist.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 10/02/2015 06:36

Oh that new york fudge looks fabulous.
I have no time for frozen yogurt, it has no place in the ice cream section.

Slightly off topic, but I used to adore Haagen Dasz coffee ice cram and havent seen it for over 10 years

TheRealAmandaClarke · 10/02/2015 06:38

lemonpoppyseed i love the Baileys one too. I bought four tubs from Lidl just before Christmas.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 10/02/2015 06:41

Oh the disappointment at cherry garcia frozen yogurt. Every time i think the ice cream is on sale, no. Just bloody yogurt. Boo.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 10/02/2015 06:45

They could do a MN one. Op Oh, or two
A chocolate caramel one with delicious layers of Cake
And a strawberry shortcake jammy dodger ine with mini Biscuit. Maybe for valentine's day Grin

drivingmisspotty · 10/02/2015 07:52

Is the problem that 'frozen yoghurt sells better in Europe'. Someone behind a desk in Canada has confused us with Milanese dieters and Parisian nibblers. They don't realise we aspire to the gluttony of our friends across the Atlantic and we want cream, fudge and chocolate, dammit!

*please excuse all national stereotypes

I'm going to write a strongly worded letter.

MummyPig24 · 10/02/2015 09:36

My absolute favourite was Winterberry Brownie. It was around a few years ago and then disappeared. Dh and I were gutted (our waistlines were not!) we still keep an eye out for it.

MrsBertMacklin · 10/02/2015 09:39

Maybe I should email them this thread. I got a voucher when I complained about getting a duff tub of peanut butter cup, with only 5 cups in it.

ShadowSpiral · 10/02/2015 09:55

Ben & Jerry's is rubbish. With the exception of the frozen yoghurt (which I don't buy as I prefer ice-cream), all their stuff i see in the shops has chocolate in it. I hate chocolate ice-cream. As a general rule, I'd choose no ice-cream at all over ice cream with chocolate in it.

So I don't buy Ben & Jerry's. I buy other brands that have chocolate free options.

LurkingHusband · 10/02/2015 12:26

Sounds to me like there's a gap in the market ? Crowdfunded ice cream, anyone ?

motherofallaunts · 10/02/2015 12:30

Does anyone remember one that had like cinnamon flavour biscuits in it? Oh my god it was divine

Not the same quality, but this weekend I bought cinnamon biscuit Carte D'Or. It was incredible, like butterscotch Angel Delight but without all that preparation hassle...
(not for the true ice cream eficionados though, really)

nilbyname · 10/02/2015 14:39

You are all bastards!

I've just sent dh to the shop for some chunky monkey!
