AIBU to be cross that someone left the cake out in the rain?

I don't think that I can take it 'cause it took so long to bake it and I'll never have that recipe again.

Sad Sad Sad

I thought it was a piss take when I heard that song on the radio for the first time in my 34 years the other day.
But no YADNBU the only proper place for cake to be put is in my belly

ClartyYakker · 08/02/2015 13:07

its not raining today - but it does feel like spring is never waiting for us dear Grin

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 08/02/2015 13:07

BackforGood · 08/02/2015 13:07

I recall the yellow cotton dress.....

DoJo · 08/02/2015 13:08

Are you sure it wasn't the old men playing checkers by the trees?

TheVermiciousKnid · 08/02/2015 13:09

Yes, all the sweet, green icing flowing down. :(

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 08/02/2015 13:18
is a very odd place.
LizzieVereker · 08/02/2015 13:18

You think you've got problems, with your soggy cake? Well someone read out a letter he wrote me on the radio. And they told the world just how he felt! How intrusive is that?

Lizzie you've done so well since you guys broke up last June, stay strong...

I was really bored last night but Tony Blackburn played some records and then I felt much better. I think he saved my life with that song...

kungfupannda · 08/02/2015 13:24

Could be worse, OP. You could be some kind of strange, suicidal ghost on a train.

Or have I entirely misinterpreted that strange 'don't want to be under your thumb forever' song?

Cakes in the rain are an entirely valid operatic complaint...

waitingowaiting · 08/02/2015 13:27

Ah the 70s (or was it early 80s?). Doom, gloom and angst all round.

TheVermiciousKnid · 08/02/2015 13:28

I will take my life into my hands and I will use it

Thank you flighty. It's all his fault, I kept telling him to get a new overcoat.

Good old Tony Blackburn , I'm glad he cheered you up.

drudgewithagrudge · 08/02/2015 13:57

I think that Billy Joe McCallister was so upset about the cake being left out in the rain that he jumped off the Tallahassee bridge.

Flossyfloof · 08/02/2015 14:10

I am not sure about that timeline, Drudge, that happened way back on 3 June.
I love this, we have conversations like this all the time at home. Bizarre at best incomprehensible at worst.

ILovedYouYesterday · 08/02/2015 14:59

Ah, kungfupanda, not heard that one in years, used to love being creeped out by it on the radio, thanks for the reminder Grin

Looked up the cake one and am now completely Confused !

waitingowaiting · 08/02/2015 15:34

"Hello, this is (doodah, can't remember name), I'm sorry that I'm not home. But if you leave me, your name and number, I promise soon as I get home I'll phone..."

But she can't because she's dead. And he'll never get to tell her that he's sorry...

Ilovereadingbooks · 08/02/2015 15:46

Waiting, it was Joany. 1979 i believe and tony blackburn played it the other saturday. Today, of course, he would be phoning her mobile. Some lyrics are baffling. Yellow by coldplay.. Wtf? I like them but the lyrics often make no sense.
