To ask for peoples forgiveness

I posted something recently which I worded incorrectly and after not readinf the talk guidelines. I had joined mumsnet a few months ago but had never posted, hence the reason I came up as a new poster. I had posted looking for support for a serious situation, which I got and I am very grateful for. The next day I posted about something that had happened months previously. I just wanted to think about something else for a little while. I can see how my post didnt look right, it most definately was not intentional. I am always trying to improve as a person, and I wont make the mistake again. It was a true situation but i can see that some information I added was not necessary, I then tried to back up my story which was inappropriate and not based on fact. Can I be forgiven?

Don't even worry about it Mermaid. There are lots of people on here that are excellent at listening and giving advice, some being hilarious while they do it.

There also seems to be a contingent of people who merrily kick so done at any opportunity and gleefully pick holes in anyone's story, engage in troll hunting and accuse OPs of drip feeding if they don't happen to mention every single specific detail of a situation in their first post. It's harsh but don't take it personally. It's also worth remembering how you read something isn't necessarily the tone that it was posted in. I made a lighthearted reply to a post recently and it was taken very much the wrong way!

Thankyou Drop! I am new to forums and I tend to take things to heart in RL all of the time. I will try to develop a thicker skin. X

Don't be so hard on yourself! Here on MN you won't find better supporters but unfortunately there are a sad few who just thrive on the drama x
