If having 1400 quid a month coming in is being "on your uppers" then I wish I was on my uppers!

If I am judgemental by not feeling sorry for "poor people" who only have that amount coming in, then I guess I'm judgemental.

(I have a council flat. If I start complaining about it and saying I wish I had enough money to rent privately, are you judgemental for not agreeing with me and feeling sorry for me?)

Plenty of people get by on £14000 a month in fact i'm pretty sure its close to the govourments benefits cap! Its not about what they had, its about the choices they are making from what they have now.

And i maybe did criticise what they did with what they had, but i wont be "shamed" because I don't believe any of it is true.

Almshouses do still exist. Quite a few near here.

Anyone who has £400/month to spend on B&Bs, £300 a month to spend on furniture storage, another £200+ to spend on a loan and can afford to turn down work because it doesn't suit them is not on their uppers or needy.

They must be shit then, Viva, because they apparently did not help this needy couple.

Actually alms houses do still exist. There is even an Alm House association. I actually live just round the corner from a small estate of Alms Houses although I only discovered taht they were alms houses a couple of months ago when I was taking to one of the residents on the bus.

I wonder if we could report the press for continually helping scammers?

Their photo was on TripAdvisor last night, too, in connection with their cottages/B&B.

Wonder where the £9k will go, perhaps to an almshouse for truly needy people.
