to think that the parents of these teenagers should be proud that they tried hard to help this man.

Just seen this on Twitter. A man set himself on fire and these teens frantically tried to help him by dousing him with their bottled water and trying to get him to drop and roll. Apparently other cars were nearby but the only ones who came to his aid were these young people.

i can't open it (just in case) but yanbu, well done to those young people for caring

BOFster · 06/02/2015 23:13

Oh how unspeakably awful Sad. That poor man.

BOFster · 06/02/2015 23:17

I've only just read this article in the Huff Post about a Tory MP basically telling a learning-disabled man to suck it up about his benefit sanctions. I wondered how many suicides these policies would lead to, but it's obviously happened already Angry.

And yes, well done those teenagers. We don't hear enough about how kind and brave they can be.

Samcro · 06/02/2015 23:18

i can't read the articles. but yes teens are not given enough credit

Sorry if ive triggered anyone or anything posting this thread. Its just that younger people get such a bad rap (unjustifiably so) and i dont think thats fair and in my experience also inaccurate.

No, not at all. I mean, it's not nice reading, and it makes me RAGE, but it's a fair point about the altruism of teenagers.

LillyEvans · 07/02/2015 00:04

Yes good on those teens but what an awful story. I wish I could have helped the poor man.

As for Mark Spencer, he should be ashamed of himself. What an utter idiot. He doesn't deserve to be an mp.

I'm really upset by these stories. The saddest thing is I know there are more people out there suffering.

HelenaDove it is a trigger(I hate that expression,,,,but that is why I have not clicked on links) but glad you posted it
