To think I am not 'too old' to have fossil bags?

I have just sold a mulberry handbag on ebay and I told the buyer I wouldn't have used it as I am really into fossil bags at the moment. She replied and said she was ''too old'' for those. I am confused.... are they for young people? I am 35..am I too old for them too?

Now all you baggy people....please tell me...what good quality bag design would I like if I don't do brown leather and have a penchant for things which are slightly ethnic or a bit hippy looking. Blush There's no use me pretending...I am an old hippy but I do love clothes and can never find a bag I like! Not a good quality one anyway.

I don't really know Postchildren, but I see them slagged off a lot on here! I've got some lovely ones, I don't go for the ones with giant dogs plastered one on the front but have a gorgeous red laptop bag and a black satchel.

I'm 29 and have been buying Fossil bags for the last decade.

Quality is great for the price. They're not 'showy' but have nice hardware.

Mulberry is shite value.

Mrs T - when I was in Morocco I saw some amazing bags! They were camel leather but I am not spiciest :) If you ever go to Marrakesh I imagine you would find a lovely bag to suit your taste :) Try googling Moroccan leather bags.

Radley with the bokeworthy dog tag used to look like it was for grannies. A bonne marche of a bag (is that shop national?)

They have upped their game HUGELY though in the last couple of years. Some really nice designs. Quality has always been good.

Re: the jazzy bags vs plain bags. A plain bag makes me feel more put together and it's all about the shape for me.
I don't want to look like a mad bag lady or something out of Ab Fab.

Id always admired Radley bags but now Im old eough to afford and trust myself with one they are 'off the mark' but I use my plain black cross body one - its very functional and it doesnt look cheap.

OP you are my new BFF on MN exactly re coat, boots and bag especially in winter.

And YES to whoever said they not showy - I see those Moors jobs about and they just look like similar to Dune type bags that arent leather and a a bit too fashiony looking IYKWIM.

Im getting grown upish I think.

Mrs C - Abfab - totally getting that lol! I think a ''loud'' bag is a big no no. Subtle rules the say for me.

andsmile - :) Yes it is certainly most true in winter- I bought two lovely coats from Joules this winter and the wax one is clearly going to last me for ages. I think I am also getting 'grown up'...going for quality that lasts. My husband has always been like that - he has Samsonite bags that are years old!

I bought a Modalu one a few years ago before it became a coveted brand as it came up in a search for 'handbag with lots of pockets'. A couple of years later fecking Pippa Middleton was seen with one and the price doubled. Shows you how over priced these things are once a brand is hyped.

Until I have the cash to spend on one of them, I will stick to my regatta backpack Grin

I have a Fossil bag with a matching purse!!!
My husband bought it for me, well my ex husband. I got it last year for Christmas. I think he still cares but it didn't get him anywhere, especially not up the jacksy.
I am 58. Do I win the oldest trout with a handbag?

Op I tell ya I bought Joules last winter - omg there is a bot of a backstory to this but I ended up with several coat and boot combinations last winter - it was the most I have ever spent in one month on clothes. I have worn them all again this winter.

I have not bought anything for 6 months - seperate thread again! But I am planning a bag purchase at the end of feb - Im considering that pale grey shopper style from Fossil now.

some are older than others, like the oil cloth ones seem quite orla kiely to me. and therefore not old fogeyish but not for young girls either.

You are never too old and feck what anyone else thinks. I have a juicy bag which I adore (mostly because it has Scotties on it), the bag forums will tell you that you can't have one over thirty. A shit is not given, I like it and that's what matters.

I only have one fossil. A battered, fading satchel but I do rather love it.
