To open a bottle of prosecco on a Wednesday night?

To cut a long story short I can't eat the tea I've made for the family tonight...so I've gone and bought fish and chips for myself.

I have never done this I don't think...nobody else wanted anything as they have all eaten.

Now there's a freezing cold bottle outside calling me.I just think it would go beautifully with the fish and chips, they are covered in salt and vinegar and my mouth is watering, more for the prosecco than the food it seems very naughty on a Wednesday night.

Should I save it for weekend? Or down the full bottle and enjoy it seeing as I bought it?

I feel guilty and I don't know why.

Wickeswench · 04/02/2015 19:30

Ahem. We always have "mid-week wine" in a Wednesday.

Try not to go over 2-3 bottles a week regularly though.

BizzieBoo · 04/02/2015 19:31

OMG open it! That is my idea of heaven!

Not jealous at all.......nope not me. Grin

SuperGlue · 04/02/2015 19:31

Have it! Life is too short. Sometimes you have to break out on a Wednesday night. I have a bottle here and did contemplate opening it in time for Wolf Hall with dh but have decided against it as I am trying to cut back big time on my eating & drinking so I can finally lose this spare type I am lugging about - we have a wedding and a couple of nice weekend trips coming up and I am sick of feeling ick.

Open it and enjoy it!

I've just had chippy chips (shared with kids after swimming lessons), and have opened a bottle of prosecco that has been in my fridge for weeks! I've got a day off tomorrow so that's my excuse

Everythingwillbeok · 04/02/2015 19:55

Thankyou you lovely lot.

It's open I'm on my second glass and the fish and chips were delicious.

Still feels naughty though DP has said he doesn't want any so may have another glass.

So really that will be the bottle.

AmserGwin have a lovely day off tomorrow I'm off too. Smile

You need to ask? Really?

kittentwo · 04/02/2015 20:10

Enjoy

monkeyfacegrace · 04/02/2015 20:12

Like it's even a question? Why is wine supposedly for weekends only?

We drink daily here. That bottle would have been open at 5 pm, no problem.

Gunpowder · 04/02/2015 20:13

Open it!

confusedandemployed · 04/02/2015 20:14

AmserGwin your NN suggests you don't need an excuse....Wink

Brummiegirl15 · 04/02/2015 20:15

Er you would be very very very unreasonable to NOT open it!!!

Mmmm fish & chips and cold prosecco. #heaven

louwn · 04/02/2015 20:18

You are really making me want to ditch my chicken salad plans and eat fish and chips with prosecco - sounds divine! Enjoy!

Tinks42 · 04/02/2015 20:19

Why does it feel really naughty? If you want a few glasses of whatever any day of the week then do it.

Don't get the oooohhhh naughty almost tittering thing on here at all.

ourglass · 04/02/2015 20:20

YOLO

cleanmyhouse · 04/02/2015 20:20

Drink it! I opened a bottle of red the second I got in the door after work. Wednesday wine is a regular treat for me, the kids go away to their Dad for 3 days on Wednesday, so its nice dinner, a couple of glasses of red and absolutely no Housework.

McMW · 04/02/2015 20:23

Do it!!!!

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 04/02/2015 20:44

You have to finish the bottle so not to waste those lovely bubbles.

Drink up Wink
