Central heating has just packed in. Just looking for a plumber and wondering if it's acceptable to call their home number at 8pm to see if I can get them to come out tomorrow. I'm looking at local plumbers, will they be annoyed with me ringing in the evening?

If they don't want to be contacted at night they should switch their phones off. I would phone. It's not 9 o'clock yet so still reasonable. I need to get a plumber for next week and keep putting it off. You've just reminded me. He (or she) might be able to help over the phone too. Save you a cold night.

Plumbers advertise if they are 24 hours

Try 24 hour plumber or emergency plumbers and then your postcode in yell.com
