Another bin day question

I've just been shouted at and called rude by my neighbour for putting rubbish in her bin. The bin lorry is in the next cul de sac so not much time for her to add more anyway. Tbh I didn't even realise it wasn't my bin I just chucked it in the first one I got too.

Hahahaha!

Several threads are odd when I look at them. OP not showing up, wrong PP highlighted as OP, threads 60+ long having only 2 visible...

There's a couple of posts in Site Stuff about it.

mynameissecret · 02/02/2015 11:46

Sorry it crashed just as I posted it!

Basically neighbour yelled at me for putting rubbish in her bin just as bin lorry was coming round the corner.

What's your question?

It wasn't your bin so not sure why you're surprised your neighbour was annoyed.

mynameissecret · 02/02/2015 15:01

Don't see what there is to be annoyed about as she wasn't going to put anything else in

I wouldn't dream of putting rubbish in anyone else's bin. Regardless of whether the bin men were just round the corner.
Was it a piece of litter from the street or a bag of your own rubbish?
I would have been annoyed either way.

That's not the point op. It wasn't your bin, your neighbour clearly didn't want you to use it. That's reason enough for you to be in the wrong here. Your neighbour may be particular about how they keep their bin and not wanting someone else's crap dirtying it up. What you did was actually to fly tip your waste.

Nomama · 02/02/2015 15:49

Well, I think you were fine, your neighbour is mad! VVU of her to screech. It's a bin, designed to hold rubbish... let her get on with it!

TedAndLola · 02/02/2015 16:03

It would be polite to ask first but unless you put something in unbagged which will make the bin dirty and smelly after it's emptied, it doesn't deserve being shouted at and called rude.

pregnantpause · 02/02/2015 16:07

Yanbu. I have never understood why some people are precious over bins. It's a bin ffs- used to put rubbish in. I'd understand if you were filling her bin up only for her not to be able to use it herself but that's not the case here. Ridiculous what some people chose to take offence over Hmm

mynameissecret · 02/02/2015 16:22

Obviously a divisive matter it was a bin bag all tied up so not going to dirty her bin she doesn't leave the house so no way she was going to add anything to it.
