To wake 5yo DS up

to play in the snow?

We never get proper snow where I am. Not the kind you can play in, if it falls it never ever lies on the ground, we mostly just get pelted with hail.

I know the roads are shut and it's likely that school will be closed tomorrow as teachers wont get through, but I'm pretty sure the snow in our town will be gone by morning.

He has been so excited about the prospect I'd hate for him to miss it.

Do it! What fun for him :-). He can sleep in tomorrow, school's closed.

Mouthfulofquiz · 29/01/2015 21:22

Go for it!

MagpieCursedTea · 29/01/2015 21:23

Yes! Do it! Have fun Grin

PinkSquash · 29/01/2015 21:24

Do it. I would with DS1 if it snowed overnight. Where we are its so rare that the merest hint of a snowflake gets us outside.

I live in cornwall. We never get snow. Reading your post, I just opened the curtains to check Grin

No snow here Angry

Janethegirl · 29/01/2015 21:27

It's snowing here Smile

Ohnodisaster · 29/01/2015 21:27

Be prepared he might not wake up! My 5yo dd loves fireworks and I tried to wake her up on bonfire night and New Year's Eve as there were some fantastic ones and she was having none of it!
Hope he does though-mine had a play out in the snow in the dark jut before bed-was great!

Canshopwillshop · 29/01/2015 21:28

Do it! Very jealous - where are you?

FightOrFlight · 29/01/2015 21:29

Ooooh, I love snow!

How deep is it OP?

We had some weird hail stone come snow storm earlier and I was ridiculously thrilled. It melted within an hour though Sad

I'd wake him up and let him see it/play in it too.

RedButtonhole · 29/01/2015 21:32

I'm in the west of Scotland, on the coast which is why it's rare for it to lie.

I haven't woken him yet but I know there are a few other children nearby who have been outside. I think I'll have a cuppa, look the wellies and waterproofs out then go for it Grin
