he's 6mo and fast asleep on the double bed next to me, there's only me as dp is away, he looks so peacefuland happy, but I can't leave him there can I?...

now I know he will wake up when I try and transfer so I may just leave him there for a bit longer whilst I mumsnet Grin.

he will wake, this will then result in about an hour to two hours of rocking/feeding to restore the peace Sad he was playing but a minute ago and now he's just zonked out Confused

sure you can leave him there, at least while you are awake. in 20 mins he may be much more deeply asleep and transfer to his cot without waking!

He could roll onto floor so unless you have something in place to prevent that, I'd move him. I coslept with mine, it is lovely but you need to do it safely.

I agree with leaving him for a bit so he is deeply asleep whilst you MN and enjoy watching him. I still love watching my DC sleep even though they are much older they still look so innocent.

double bed is pushed up against wall, he's on the wall side, he can't roll out, but I dent leave him there all night, I'll just wait for him to drop in to a deep sleep as mentioned and attempt the transfer to cot, but I won't hold my breath that it will happen without rousing him Grin.

waking the craken, and him screaming the place down for the next hour is one worry

leaving him there, the co sleeping thing makes me uneasy I've never been told how to do it properly so never attempted it.

He's big enough for you to safely co-sleep, my dd has been co-sleeping with dgd since she was born. The main danger seems to be if you have been drinking or taking drugs

I moved him in to the cot Blush he DoD wake but after a feed went straight back to sleep, he then continued to wake every 40mins Envy what a night, coffee today and snoozing when he does I think.

If you did want to do it no pillow give him his own blanket and make sure he can't fall out that's she safe way but it's what your comfortable with my daughter had silent reflux so I gave in and gave her a pillow after a week x

If it happens again just make sure he is on top of the covers with his own blanket and put a pillow longways between you and him and leave him there.
