I love it, but worried it looks like I'm wearing a slip?

Will people be laughing behind my back thinking I forgot to put clothes on? Wink

(Also I know it's out of stock but its all over ebay)

Depends.

I may have worn it 20 - 25 years ago. Now, no chance.

Bibasbottom · 26/01/2015 19:00

If you like it and think it will look good, go for it!

Sallygoroundthemoon · 26/01/2015 19:01

It does look like underwear I'm afraid but it's very nice.

PatriciaHolm · 26/01/2015 19:01

Yep, it's underwear!

I think it's gorgeous, v glam , used to have something v similar.

laughingmyarseoff · 26/01/2015 19:03

Looks like a sexy nightie to me. I wouldn't glance to much at a late teen/early twenties wearing because half the stuff I see looks like nightwear but on someone older I would definitely glance and wonder if they hadn't realised that it looks like sexy bed clothes.

Then again I do also have something similar in red which came with stockings. :)

WorraLiberty · 26/01/2015 19:04

I've got one very similar to that and no-one (to my knowledge) has thought it was underwear.

Mind you, my one's midnight blue so I don't know if that makes a difference.

ElsaMoFoQueen · 26/01/2015 19:05

It's out of stock, so you have no worries about wearing it now

Haha well I did say that in my OP. The power of ebay.

ElsaMoFoQueen · 26/01/2015 19:06

Maybe if I team it with a nice fitted jacket and killer heels it could make it look less .... like I'm on the prowl Wink

I've worn one like it 20 years and 3 stone ago!!

Taz1212 · 26/01/2015 19:06

I have one very similar except it's from the 1950s and does not look like underwear when it is on! Shame it's been 20 years since I've been able to wear it...

laughingmyarseoff · 26/01/2015 19:07

I think with a jacket or blazer you could probably get away with it OP. But if you took it off...it is lovely though, I loved my red one I might have to see if there's any of them on ebay in another colour.

DoItTooJulia · 26/01/2015 19:09

I'm not keen. How much is it going for on ebay?

ElsaMoFoQueen · 26/01/2015 19:11

Well I saw one for £15 buy now so I was like hell yeah why not?! .... then saw it was a size 4 .. so it might just cover one bum cheek haha.

The only other "buy now" was £50, which is ridiculous when it was only £36 in store.

How good is your body? (Because that's all that people will notice with that garment.) Smile

Eastpoint · 26/01/2015 19:15

Dd1, 16 (yr12) has this dress in a 4. It looks fab on her & if she is travelling on the bus or tube she wears jeans underneath & a coat on top. She's worn it a lot & loves it.

TheFairyCaravan · 26/01/2015 19:15

I would have worn it as a youngster, not now though.

My 20yo niece, who is very tall and slim would look stunning in it.

WowserBowser · 26/01/2015 19:15

I knew exactly what dress it was without opening the thread! A Geordie Shore girl was wearing it recently.

WowserBowser · 26/01/2015 19:16

...the green version anyway. I would have love love love loved it when I was 20.

CatsClaus · 26/01/2015 19:19

It is about 3 inches too short and the straps are far too flimsy for that to officially be an Actual dress.

fancy slip!

what underwear could you wear with it?? even the skimpiest bra is going to completely upstage it!

badtime · 26/01/2015 19:19

I wore things like that in the 90s, when actually wearing an actual slip as outerwear was fashionable.

If you like it, why the hell not?

Y0rkshirePudding · 26/01/2015 19:24

I once wore something very similar to a party when I was in my early 20's (Im now early 30's). Before I left my nan said I looked "...like a prozzy!" I was really hurt but I just put it down to her age. But on arrival a colleague announced loudly "did u forget to get dressed, you've turned up in your nightie! Hahahah!" ...I was mortified, felt uncomfortable all evening and never wore the dress again.

It is a lovely dress though OP, Im sure people are far more accepting of a dress like this these days

DarkHeart · 26/01/2015 19:26

Depends how good your body is.

GooodMythicalMorning · 26/01/2015 19:29

Love it but it does look like underwear.
