things like times tables etc

I've really brushed up on a lot of skills and things I've probably been taught but forgotton, sink in better as an adult

Alicia was talking about how she has learnt all the proper names for shapes since teaching her daughter and that they learn together

I agree magicpixie I thought she came across as a very nice person. I didn't expect to like her so much but was disappointed when she got voted out last night.

WorraLiberty · 24/01/2015 16:56

I agree, I think she's sweet.

However, when she said that on Halloween she actually goes round to all her neighbours with bags of healthy snacks for them to give out to her DD, I had to wonder if she's a Mumsnetter! Grin

I'm not sure if I believe that she doesn't know the alphabet, but who knows really.

Either way, I don't think home educating her DD is the way forward.

MagicMojito · 24/01/2015 17:01

I can't stand her. There is no way that she is really that naïve, sweet etc. She's famous for having sex with men and then selling all the sordid details to the tabloids. Not buying it.

MagicMojito · 24/01/2015 17:03

Grin worra I thought exactly the same thing!

NorbertDentressangle · 24/01/2015 17:09

All I know about her is from a programme I watched a couple of years ago. Her daughter who must be about 18/19yo now was such a lovely girl.

The roles were completely reversed and the poor girl was the 'Mum' in the relationship with Alicia being somewhere between a tantruming toddler and a stroppy teen. She also had to look after her baby sister whilst her Mum had yet more surgery.

The daughter was also a very intelligent, academic girl who struggled as her mum seemed to think that she should be out partying and not studying so hard.

jalopy · 24/01/2015 17:16

Why didn't she learn the alphabet and shapes with her first child?Hmm

NorbertDentressangle · 24/01/2015 17:17

I seem to remember that the older daughter may have been largely brought up by Alicia's parents.

bobbyjoe · 24/01/2015 17:32

I thought she was sweet too and some of the things were quite astute and succinct although she might not have the formal education. I think from her talk she's been on quite a journey and from the words and phrases she uses she's had some therapy. She reminds me of Tara PT and also a friend - fragile and vulnerable people that have suffered one way or another but are hanging on in there.

bobbyjoe · 24/01/2015 17:32

*some of the things "she said", I meant to say.

theeternalstudent · 24/01/2015 18:55

I liked her too. She came across very well and at times quite eloquent. I do understand what she means when she said that she was learning with her kids but it really wasn't the best thing to say in front of KHole.

Have you discovered the CBB thread in Telly Addicts? come and join us for a chat about Alicia and others!

Cocolepew · 24/01/2015 18:59

She was horrible in that programme with her daughter.

Baliali31 · 24/01/2015 19:00

I must join the CBB thread!! I really liked Alicia. I had a friend years ago who met her at drama school and said she was lovely. I thought she came across as a very honest person. Would have preferred Nadia to leave!

jeanswithatwist · 24/01/2015 19:09

i thought she came over as a nice person however i also thought she was really boring/dull and wouldn't have wanted to hang out with her if i had been in the bb house

londonrach · 24/01/2015 19:09

Who is she?

YourMaNoBraBackOfMyCar · 24/01/2015 19:35

She's nice enough but was getting pissed off with her handing Katie Hopkins reasons to further belittle her on a plate. Is anyone else getting annoyed with people saying KH isn't who she portrays herself in the media? She's been vile to Alicia and Perez.

DioneTheDiabolist · 24/01/2015 19:42

I liked her and the rather dismissive "isn't she a bit thick" looks she sent KH's way. She made me Grin. I wish Nadia had gone.Angry

samsam123 · 24/01/2015 19:44

thick as shit

ThatDamnedBitch · 24/01/2015 19:54

I liked her, I thought she handled herself really well with KH and that vile bitch Cami. God I can't stand her!

What really annoys me though is when people like KH or for example samsam123 say she's thick. Even is she is thick, so what? What makes a more intelligent more worthy than a stupid one? Why is someone who knows their times tables etc a better person than someone who doesn't? Hmm

I think it says far more about the snobbish and narcissistic person doing the judging than it does about the supposed thick person! Angry

ThatDamnedBitch · 24/01/2015 19:57

*intelligent person

YourMaNoBraBackOfMyCar · 24/01/2015 20:04

I don't think she's thick at all. She showed high emotional intelligence. She made Katie, Chloe and that horrid cami-Li look like harridans.

magicpixie · 24/01/2015 20:14

yeah shame nadia didn't go

OP posts:
MyIronLung · 24/01/2015 21:29

I liked that she held her own and didn't go off crying in the diary room. I expected her to be crier, especially when certain people (cami) started to be quite unpleasant to her.
It was the first time I really noticed her. She's obviously made of strong stuff.

As for the alphabet. That was a stupid thing to admit to in front of the housemates and on tv. She's forever going to be known as the thicko who learnt her abc's in her 30s! That's a shame for her because I think there's more to her than that. (Dull as dishwater most of the time in the house, but not as bad as Patsy!)

seaoflove · 24/01/2015 21:33

Her younger daughter is called Papaya, right? Sweet Jesus Grin

Because it's a fruit with no provenance as a name, and it sounds stupid when you say it out loud, and looks stupid written down.

Apple is bad, but Papaya is the next level of awful.
