To be too hot

Even though it's -1 here, I've got the window open right above my bed, no heating on and my summer duvet only covering my belly. I'm even pressing my legs against the cold wall below the open window to cool down. I've raised this before but I need to know I'm not alone in the winter. Blush

Are you in the 45-55 age group by any chance?

Theboodythatrocked · 20/01/2015 23:04

I am 50 and have pyjamas, bed socks and a hot water bottle. Bloody cold still. Mirena coil working well now. Grin

Bluegill · 20/01/2015 23:05

Op phone home?

QueenBean · 20/01/2015 23:06

My bf's flat is that warm we have the window open every night, summer duvet on and heating off

Mine on the other hand is like an ice-box

Bowlersarm · 20/01/2015 23:06

Yep it's a great time of year to have hot flushes. Hope they stop by the time summer gets here though.

Bluegill · 20/01/2015 23:06

I'm sure it will only get worse too!

Grin you have to be some sort of alien to be warm tonight!!! Grin

MissYamabuki · 20/01/2015 23:14

OP you're not alone!

Today I did the school run wearing a sleeveless top, sweating slightly - the weather was sunny, 3 degrees Grin .

I'm used to getting funny looks by now. I hope things will calm down a bit when I stop BF!

I hope you manage to cool down. I'm OK this minute as I've left my hair to dry naturally after showering bracing myself for another sweaty night though

knackered69 · 20/01/2015 23:14

I have my own peri central heating system at the moment Blush Its like a power surge...

Bluegill · 20/01/2015 23:18

I'm currently annoyed that it's not cold enough outside and the breeze coming through the window (which I'm lying directly under) is not bloody cold enough. It's like a summer breeze, I've had to pull my pj top up. I'm tempted to go into the loft to find a fan Grin

Missyama, I have to have another shower after I dry my hair. I near combust when heat is applied.

Have you been in Western Africa lately? No?
Any signs of plague then?

CoffeeandNumbers · 20/01/2015 23:27

My heating has been on constantly since mid Dec, I am still cold. Sad

And soon to be penniless no doubt, when the gas bill arrives! Hmm

Bluegill · 20/01/2015 23:27

Cat! Seriously?! I long for the days when I loved being cosey with a hot water bottle. Those days are sadly gone.

I've just had a rebate from my utility provider Grin

I'm boiling as well only had the heating on about an hour.

My house is insulated to the max, with foam blocks on the outside which was rendered and plastered. Above the recommendation for loft insulation and double glazing with no caps.

Ha. I am mid forties and its Australian summer here. It was 38 degrees yesterday! Thank god for air con and swimming pools. To be honest I'm fine during the day, but I've pretty much given up on sleep. It doesn't help that I have recurring dream about the ceiling fan flying off and decapitating me, or that my air con sounds like an old tractor.
