I think he deserves privacy. Poor poor man only went to his work, he didn't mean to cause an accident.

My DH had a heart attack behind the wheel when we were on our way back from shopping in 2006. We thought it was indigestion at first. he managed to park in our car park outside our flat and when indoors when we realised it wasnt indigestion called an ambulance.

Afterwards DH and i joked how he had still managed to park the car straight even though other residents couldnt and they wernt in the throes of a heart attack. Was our way of making light of the situation i guess.

But we were lucky and we know things could have been different DH didnt lose conciousness until just before the ambulance got here.

This poor bloke went to work and got ill and it was an accident. The gutter press make me sick.

Personally I think causing several other people to lose a loved one ( albeit unintentionally) would be equally as devastating as losing a loved one myself.
I find a few of the posts very unsympathetic.
I think the papers were wrong. Many people will sympathise with him but there is potential for some people to focus blame on him and even pose a risk to him.

helena

my dad also had a heart attack behind the wheel.

We didn't know at the time and it wasn't until later it was realised it actually a heart attack.

A mild one but given he was driving I guess he got very lucky.

Giles Thanks

Gileswithachainsaw · 18/01/2015 23:15

Thanks.

was a few years ago now.

shows it can happen to anyone though. no one expects to get up go to work and fall ill behind the wheel.

I'm glad your dh is ok.Flowers
