To not care that my cat craps in neighbours gardens

Salmotrutta · 17/01/2015 21:08

I have cats.

They go outside (as they should).

They probably shit I the neighbours garden but mostly they seem to shit in our garden.

I suspect they kill small furry animals too and I know they do as well as birds

As do lions, tigers, lynxes, snow leopards, blah blah.

I don't approve of "indoor" cats.

No they don't; unless encouraged by irresponsible owners

Shows how little you know. I suggest you try telling that to a sighthound. The vast majority have a very high prey drive and will go into full on kill mode on seeing a cat. Not all of them will eat what they kill though, some will just come back to you covered in blood having eaten whatever they've killed while others will bring it back to you. I know of one lurcher that took down a deer. Believe me, they need no encouragement to hunt.

Sparklingbrook · 18/01/2015 08:33

Eww.

richthegreatcornholio · 18/01/2015 08:48

And yet they make truly amazing pets. The most gentle and affectionate dogs that I have ever met. Love people and will do anything for a cuddle. Great with children. Their natural instinct though is to chase and kill small furries.

Sparklingbrook · 18/01/2015 08:52

Sad A deer isn't a small furry.

toomuchtooold · 18/01/2015 08:53

Fine not to care, as long as you don't care if I empty a bucket of water over the little fuckers if they come anywhere near my garden.

Every time I let my kids out in the garden I have to do a sweep for cat shit. Luckily for me they are 2 and a half now so have outgrown the phase where they would put everything in their mouths.

Sparklingbrook · 18/01/2015 08:54

Oh no. Have forgotten the lighthearted bit this morning. Doh! Blush

hiddenhome · 18/01/2015 09:03

Everytime I go for a walk in the park with my kids I have to dodge the dogs shit that's been left Hmm

FoxgloveFairy · 18/01/2015 09:03

I have a weimeraner, and if she came across a cat, it would be toast. Hence she's on a leash if off of our property. However, with humans, she is pathetically friendly! Unfortunately, hunting dogs hunt. You can't train them not to any more than train them not to breathe really.

Sparklingbrook · 18/01/2015 09:05

I don't think I could ever properly truly trust a dog because of the hunting instinct. Sad

Wherediparkmybroom · 18/01/2015 09:06

Send em to my garden, save me money on dog food!

Sparklingbrook · 18/01/2015 09:08
Hmm

I think this morning we will have a spate of people not reading the whole thread maybe. Grin

ghostyslovesheep · 18/01/2015 09:16

I have never had to wash my kids shoes under an out door tap due to them stepping in cat shit - funny that Grin

dog owners are a bit odd

Morning Sparkling

Sparklingbrook · 18/01/2015 09:21

Morning ghosty. Smile

Junior footy today. Someone puts the flags up, someone puts the nets up and someone has to take the shovel and clear the pitch of dog poo before the game. Smashing.

MarjorieMelon · 18/01/2015 09:22

There was a thread on here recently about cat litter trays which I think is pretty grim. I don't like the idea of cat litter trays in houses and I also don't like the idea of cats pooing in neighbours gardens. However some posters had actually managed to train their cats in the same way that people train dogs. They were indoor cats but they went outside to poo, the owners picked the mess up straight away bagged in and binned it. There were also a couple of owners who claimed their cats had been trained to sit on the toilet and do their business in the same way as humans.

hiddenhome · 18/01/2015 09:30

My youngest cat pisses in the bathroom sink if she gets the chance, so put that in your pipe and smoke it Grin

I love how angry the cat haters get.

"I'm going to spray them with my SUPER SOAKER"

Oh no, no please don't do that Hmm

My cat wouldn't care about a super soaker, in fact she likes a bit of altercation and would come back for the hell of it. Probably during the summer, as she holds grudges for quite some time and would piss in your Pimms.

I don't hate cats; I like cats. I don't hate most cat owners; I actually like most cat owners/humans. I dislike (not hate) people who don't care when their pet (dog/cat/hamster/whatever) impinges on the lives of other people.

ChaircatMiaow · 18/01/2015 09:48

Now Marjorie dearest, if cats shouldn't be using indoor litter trays or crapping in gardens, and you are disinclined to believe that cats can be toilet trained, where will the poo go?

Will the poo fairies wave their wands and magic it away? Hmm, hmm?

Sparklingbrook · 18/01/2015 09:49

I think the cat haters would like the cat owners to catch it in their hands Ed Grin

borisgudanov · 18/01/2015 09:50

I don't know where our cats go but if a neighbour reported they were going in their garden I am on hand to remove any poo. Special exceptions to this rule apply in the case of twats.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 18/01/2015 10:04

There's loads of cats round our way.

Love 'em.

We have a litter tray as we try to keep them in at night, I don't know where they drop a load outside if they do.

Here's my gorgeous boy and girl
