When they are clearly not? Do people just want vindication that they are in the right? Long term lurker (AIBU gets me through my 16 week old's still frequent nightfeeds) and I've noticed this a few times. What's the point?!
Or am I BU for just wanting to read people argue at 3am Grin

It's because this section is the busiest - so everyone twists their topic into some vague aibu question - so this section gets busier - so everyone posts here - so it gets busier...

Grin

There are some people who actually have a real question and genuinely want opinions.
There are some people who have a real situation but they don't want opinions, they want everyone to agree that they are in the right
But mostly, people make a general chat into a question because they want the biggest audience.

aibu to ask if I should have beans on toast tonight?
aibu to say that it's really cold tonight?
aibu to wonder if bears shit in the woods?

They just want to chat. It's not about the question.

Seriously, why the need to ask? Your choice to be irritated.

OohLaLaa · 16/01/2015 18:24

Because I wanted the opinion of others, obviously.

YANBU I really get chippy at some of them which I think are either

a) posted to boost the posters ego (Oh OP you are wonderful)
b) posted because they need attention
c) Stealth boasts

grrrrrrrr Grin

Oh yes. I love those. AIBU to have given £50 to someone, helped an elderly person cross a road and rescued a kitten from a tree.

I always want to reply yes, you were.

Just to be childish. Grin

I just think that we all want a bit of a pat on the back sometimes and that's all they are. Just someone wanting some small sense of 'reward' for something nice they feel they did.

There are worse things to post online. At least they aren't hurting anyone.

YANBU. Stealth boast ones are the worst. One of my aupairs has definitely been cleaning the jacuzzi in my Manolo Blahniks whilst supping my vintage cristal. AIBU to tell her to stop?
