To think David Starkey was only on Question Time to test our commitment to free speech?

Just that. What an obnoxious sexist, racist arrogant man. Also his slow loud speech and over-entitlement to air time.
He expressed a view that life is short and brutal and human nature is pretty evil.
Perhaps he would be happier if he did us a favour and became a hermit.
( I know people are capable of evil-but surely they are capable of altruism and bravery too).

I didn't really watch but when I saw Starkey was on I said to my dp, if they talk about that case, I guarantee that Starkey will say the girl was to blame.

I'm waiting for dp to give me a 'You woz Right' certificate.

Yanbu. He really was annoying, and made some very outrageous comments

I thought Mehdi made some excellent comments, and Douglas did too.

It's disconcerting how much Portillo, Abbott and Neil sound like their Dead Ringers counterparts. !

Starkey is perhaps an older male version of the dreaded Katie hopkins

well perhaps I'm stretching the analogy but surely they are equally odious?

I think Starkey is a lot worse but maybe that's because I've not had the displeasure of hearing as much from Hopkins.
