Horrid divorce, finally got the paperwork through today to sign - woo hoo SmileSmile

I sign, put in the prepaid envelope and leave on the side. This is quite a moment for me and something that's been way too long coming .

Two hours later i see then envelope, opened on the stairs. DD, 3 years old, has opened, and can't remember where she's put the papers Shock

Turned the house upside down.. WTF, I live in a tiny house, where the hell has she put 12 pages of A4 paper - arghhhhhhh!!!

Do they have a parents version of childline!!

Grin you lot have really cheered me up.. That and several glasses of wine.

I'm thinking they won't be anywhere over 2 foot - the search continued Smile

Behind or under the fridge here. Or as others - back out the letterbox Grin

Esmeismyhero · 15/01/2015 20:53

Poor you! When I got my divorce papers I guarded them with my life but dd still managed to scribble on them Hmm. Just breath and shake ask your daughter again where are the FUCKING papers

waithorse · 15/01/2015 20:53

Grin This thread takes me back.

jollyjester · 15/01/2015 20:56

Under any mats?
Under any sideboards / bookcases etc, you think they won't fit but they do!
Under sofa or sofa cushions

Good luck!

Honeydragon · 15/01/2015 20:57

I eventually found my debit card 5 years later when we ripped out and gutted spruced up the kitchen. Perhaps dismantle your entire house with a chisel do some light spring cleaning?

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 15/01/2015 21:00

Do you have a ride on toy? Or any other seat with a lid?

A regular conversation in our house is:

"Try inside the pirate ship"
"Got it"

Sunshine200 · 15/01/2015 21:01

In the bin/ recycling bin?

NotSayingImBatman · 15/01/2015 21:03

ATruth, is it sad or comforting that I knew exactly which pirate ship you were talking about?

thebaelishmockingbird · 15/01/2015 21:03

Assuming they are under 2 foot may be an error. I had a climber, she used to pile cushions and steps and toy ironing boards to get where she wanted to be. Try shelves on the bookcase even you struggle to reach!

MiscellaneousAssortment · 15/01/2015 21:04

Under doormats, posted the wrong way through letterboxes, and eeek, the gaps in between floor boards. I hope it's not the latter...

GlitteryLipgloss · 15/01/2015 21:20

I used to put everything in the freezer when I was little. Or bury it in the garden. Under the sofa. God I was a little shit. Blush

CatCushion · 15/01/2015 21:22

I had a climber too. She used to take keys and put them in pots on shelves out of my reach. I accused DH of doing it fir ages before I caught her climbing up the shelves one day! Shock

girliefriend · 15/01/2015 21:23

Yanbu but unfortunately the market is saturated Wink

under sofa, behind sofa, somewhere sofa related???

kittensinmydinner · 15/01/2015 21:28

In any 'ride on' car, tortoise, centipede etc with lift up seats. Found my passport in there...after I had missed my flight ..she's 19 now and went travelling in S.E Asia today (was sore tempted to get her back..)

tumbletumble · 15/01/2015 21:32

Any luck OP?

(I mean with finding your papers, not with your selling success on eBay Grin)

123upthere · 15/01/2015 21:32

Under her pillow/your pillow? She thinks Tooth Fairy will deliver it faster for you Smile

LuluJakey1 · 15/01/2015 21:35

I would sell her - just for whatever you can get and use it to buy wine.
If you have another one you could do a BOGOF Grin

Impatientwino · 15/01/2015 21:44

I'd try through the letterbox too. My DS (2.5) posted 2 x £10 notes out of ours last weekend!! Confused

We only found them hours later as they got blown behind a massive flowerpot on the porch!!

NeedsAsockamnesty · 15/01/2015 22:27

Are you thinking of bidding on her?

Well I have some irritating paperwork I need shot of and a chimney so it could be a win win

Ohnodisaster · 15/01/2015 22:31

Laundry basket, behind the sofa and radiators are favourites here. Along with any bags and the bin.

CatCushion · 15/01/2015 22:46

SantaBanta · 15/01/2015 22:51

A prayer to St Anthony - the patron saint of lost and missing items? Look up the prayer on the internet. It works for me (I'm not massively religious either! )

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 15/01/2015 23:17

NotSayingImBatman Grin You've found real treasures there too then?

Norfolkandchance1234 · 15/01/2015 23:18

Washing machine was a favourite. Spent hours trying to find DS shoes once when he was 3
