House purchase vendor nightmare

OnlyWantsOne · 15/01/2015 17:09

Arghhhhhh

Made an offer on a house 13th October. Was accepted straight away.

Searches and contracts all done (to the tune of 1k)

Chain all looked good then 2 weeks before Christmas the vendor of the house we are buying pulls out of her onward purchase (for a really trivial reason - some thing she KNEW before she made an offer on it)

Now they have still not found a house to purchase.

Our buyers are getting really pissed off and our land Lords (we are renting a house, the one we live in - and selling one we own) have given us notice to leave.

What the actual fuck. House buying in this country is a shambles!!!!

You might not be letting it go. It makes more sense for her to move into a rental then you, plus if she does she will be a chain free cash buyer so win win.

Your vendor does very flakey Sad Carry on looking now - you never know what you may find.

specialsubject · 15/01/2015 18:45

your vendor is showing all the signs of considering you 'little people' who can be pissed about. (we had one of these in our chain) I wouldn't rule out her pulling out altogether.Hope not - but you could wait 2 months and be no further forward.

get your house sale through and keep looking. There is ALWAYS another house.

Sell sell sell.
You cannot underestimate the value of a committed cash buyer. Your vendor sounds flaky, but it's still worth inconveniencing yourself so as not to lose your buyer.
