In thinking Birmingham needs some help with tourist promotion (Fox News)

If you've not seen it,

Apparently, Birmingham is a Muslin only city and off limits to non-Muslims and in London "Muslim religious police" beat "anyone who doesn't dress according to Muslim, religious Muslim attire".

So aside from the disturbing implications of Fox News interviewing this guy (who has been a witness for a Congressional committee) and this guy clearly believing what he was saying. I think we need to set the record straight about multiculturalism, Birmingham and dickheadedness in general.

There are some cracking examples on Twitter with #FoxNewsFacts hash tag for anyone who is need of a good laugh on a horrible wet and windy Monday morning.

I think "Birmingham" needs to send "Fox News" the 1977 Telly Savalas video about Birmingham! Watch it on You Tube

And here it is:-

HootyMcTooty · 12/01/2015 22:34

I'm a Brummie and that video is flipping brilliant.

Now if you'll excuse me I must go and figure out how I became a Muslim without my knowledge.

HootyMcTooty · 12/01/2015 22:37

As funny as the response to his comments has been, I do agree with previous posters, it's been said now and people who watch Fox News as their source of information won't question it.

Does perhaps explain the beard Roy Keane grew whilst he was at Villa though..... he'd obviously used the same researchers as Fox News Wink

My personal favourite:

"If you are a non-muslim and would like to visit Birmingham #illridewithyou #FoxNewsFacts"

Grin

Squoosh

I wonder if Carl Harris did remove his tweet?. Because he didn't mention Africa either.

Vinegar speaks the truth.
There are many stories people believe and will carry on believing even when faced with evidence to the contrary. In fact contrary facts will make them believe it even more.
Usually by spouting some anecdotal 'evidence'.

RumbelowSale · 13/01/2015 10:02

I live in Birmingham.spent most of yesterday evening roaring with friends at the Twitter feeds. My absolute fave was the pic of a wet dreary road and the remark on the weather we have here....."sometimes it's Sunni, mostly it's Shi'ite. Fabulous! Grin

Well its good proof that UKIP are dangerous... if not in this country, then some nut job in the states will read about it and decide their drivel is right.

Thanks. Its scary how the 'hawks' in USA will do anything to increase fear of the foreign to justify inequality violence and military spending. This is an adviser on al-quieda ffs, but to be honest I don't think anybody cares. The amount of the world that is painted as a no-go area by the us was amusingly highlighted by Henry Rollins who spent a year going to places the US foreign office said were no-go for US citizens, and finding out they were mostly just friendly.

RedToothBrush · 21/01/2015 13:33

Anyone seen the really depressing follow up to this?

"In the West, non-assimilationist Muslims establish enclaves and carry out as much of Sharia law as they can without regard for the laws of the democratic countries which provided them a new home ...."

"It is startling to think that any country would allow, even unofficially, for a so called "no-go zone." The idea that a free country would allow for specific areas of its country to operate in an autonomous way that is not free and is in direct opposition to its laws is hard to fathom."
Bobby Jindal - Governor of Louisiana to CNN.

Noting:
When CNN reporter Max Foster pressed him on this passage after the speech, Jindal couldn't name any specific instances. But he pointed to a report in the famously unreliable tabloid Daily Mail, and couched his refusal to back down as bold truth-telling: "I think that the radical Left absolutely wants to pretend like this problem is not here. Pretending it's not here won't make it go away."

This is AFTER Steve Emerson's apology.

Bobby Jindal is reportedly considering running for president.

He knows it's not true, but it feels to his target voters as though it ought to be true, so he says it. Plus, to be very cynical about it, Jindal is an Indian-American (so, brown-skinned, very much many Americans' exact idea of what a Muslim will look like) weighing up a Presidential bid. Coming across as 'more Islamophobic than you' is very much in his interest.

We've had one case, so far as I can tell, of Islamic Numpty patrols in East London. About 3 of them, all relatively recent converts. They started upbraiding people, it quickly got out of hand, 3 of them were convicted of criminal offences. End of patrols.

PausingFlatly · 21/01/2015 13:55

He knows it's not true, but it feels to his target voters as though it ought to be true, so he says it.

Nail on head. And sadly not limited to US political types.
