When ordering a Jacket potato with cheese and something else? Such as coleslaw/beans/tuna.

OP posts:
EskSmith · 10/01/2015 14:56

It is for this very reason that I ask for Cheese then beans.

Some people are odd and like it the other way I accept this but am not willing to accept mine done wrong

Tuna, Coleslaw, chutney, anything else cold are all wrong on a jacket potato.

JamNan · 10/01/2015 15:02

Oh Nooo! It's butter first so it goes all melty. Then beans/tuna (or whatever you fancy as filling) followed by grated cheese on top (so that also goes all melty).

GreyjoysAnatomy · 10/01/2015 16:08

I like baked sweet potatoes, if that makes me less of a wrong'un? I just prefer my tatties mashed or roasted is all.

JennyOnTheBlocks · 10/01/2015 16:32

how can cheese go all melty on top of tuna, JamNan?

Gautami · 11/01/2015 15:10

I have only just realised today that although the cheese has to go under the beans (non-negotiable) on a Jacket Potato, I like it on top of the beans when it's on toast.

How strange.

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 11/01/2015 15:16

Lots of butter, then cheese and finally beans.

That is the only way to eat a Jacket Potato.

letitpea · 11/01/2015 15:24

My point exactly Jenny the cheese can't melt if its on top of tuna or coleslaw!!!

OP posts:
ghostland · 11/01/2015 15:25

I always put it on top so that it melts.

Yambabe · 11/01/2015 15:32

Always butter first, and a touch of salt.

After that it seems that IABU cos for me it would be:

Spud & cold filling & cheese last

Spud & cheese first & hot filling

I like my cheese melty with a hot filling but prefer it "hard" with a cold one

The one exception to this is a jacket sweet potato when topped with a pre-grilled goats cheese........ no other filling required on this one..... Grin

WyrdByrd · 11/01/2015 16:41

I totally agree with OP, but having done extensive research on the subject I think you'll find we're in a minority! Grin

DennyDifferent · 11/01/2015 16:45

under cold stuff, on top of hot stuff. Wink

DennyDifferent · 11/01/2015 16:46

how will it get all mealty on top of a cold filling?

BadgersNadgers · 11/01/2015 19:15

Sweet potatoes? Oh no! They're all sweet and the texture is mieumy (not at all a made up word Hmm). What to you top them with anyway? Nutella? Marshmallows? Jam?

I'm sorry to say that you are a carbohydrate deviant Grin

Wellwellwell3holesintheground · 11/01/2015 19:56

Left side if spud equally tuna mayo and egg mayo. Right side of spud beans then cheese. On one side in the plate green salad with honey and mustard dressing. On the other side, coleslaw. Must be homemade.

JamNan · 12/01/2015 05:55

I was thinking of baked beans covered in melty cheese. Grin

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 12/01/2015 06:48

Cheese first. Yanbu.

Catsize · 12/01/2015 06:58

Yanbu

GreyjoysAnatomy · 12/01/2015 12:10

Badgers I just put cheese and sour cream on them.

I did make a Nutella-marshmallow-french toast sandwich last night though Grin

BadgersNadgers · 12/01/2015 13:48

I just put cheese and sour cream on them

But do you put the cheese or the sour cream on first? Grin

I did make a Nutella-marshmallow-french toast sandwich last night though

This is something DS2 needs to try - I take it all back, you're a culinary genius!

GreyjoysAnatomy · 12/01/2015 14:21

Cheese first, dude, always Wink

Sandwich- two slices of brioche loaf, spread each with Nutella, stick mini marshmallows to one side then slap the other side on top. Dip both sides of the sandwich in egg just like if you're making normal french toast and fry in butter. Then fall into a diabetic coma from eating too much sugary goodness Grin

My next project will involve dark chocolate chips in place of the Nutella and salted pretzels along side the marshmallow. Currently looking for people to back this genius venture Grin

Caboodle · 13/01/2015 20:42

Bleurgh to tuna or coleslaw on a jacket.

Cheese on TOP obv.

And I'm looking for a vomit emoticon for the vileness that is nutella / marshmallow french toast.

GreyjoysAnatomy · 13/01/2015 21:52
