When ordering a Jacket potato with cheese and something else? Such as coleslaw/beans/tuna.

Cheese always goes on first, then beans, to ensure cheese is fully warmed through and melted. I only ever have cheese and beans on my potato (and can't even contemplate the thought of something like coleslaw or tuna on one- either you get mixed hot/cold in your mouth, or something that should be cold ends up warm), so no need to specify in what circumstances cheese comes first. It just always does!

CrohnicallyCold · 09/01/2015 20:49

Though I quite like the idea of sprinkling extra cheese on top of the beans. Maybe I'll try a new flavour of jacket spud soon, courtesy of chipping!

hestialou · 09/01/2015 20:57

Cheese gets melted into beans and then both go on the potato.

londonrach · 09/01/2015 21:11

Under then it can melt into the potato. Love jackets....i can eat them without my ibs playing up. Was it a good one, very fluffy. Had one three weeks ago which is the best jacket in my life. Took dh at the weekend and they ran out of potatoes by 12pm and didnt inform us for 20 minutes. Dh calls it potato gate weekend. Hmm

Mammanat222 · 09/01/2015 21:25

If its cheese with a cold topping then it has to be butter + cheese + cold topping.

If its cheese with a warm topping then it has to be butter + cheese + warm topping + cheese.

If its cheese with both a warm and cold topping then it has to be butter + cheese + cold topping + warm topping + cheese.

We had jacket spuds tonight actually. .. with Greek salad though so my comprehensive formulae became null and void lol

Laquitar · 09/01/2015 21:27

You are ALL wrong!
Coleslaw should be on the side.
Cheese, then tuna. Coleslaw or salad on the side.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 09/01/2015 21:32

Cheese on last even with Tuna, keep the tuna in the tat and the cheese will still melt on the sides.

MOTU · 09/01/2015 22:43

Cheese first, always

TyneTeas · 09/01/2015 23:47

Always and only on top for me.

But dd and dh like half under and half over Shock

Botanicbaby · 09/01/2015 23:56

bleugh...cannot understand cheese AND tuna together...the very thought of it makes me want to vomit. tuna mixed in with jacket potato is incomprehensible, let alone adding cheese to the mix.

cheese always goes on top of a jacket potato Grin

CallMeExhausted · 10/01/2015 00:06

I have a tiny little countertop broiler that I inherited from my nan when she passed (she loved her jacket potatoes, and always used this for the "last step".

Potato, cheese, topping, cheese again, then under the broiler for 2 minutes to melt the cheese and make it bubbly.

We made pizza jacket potatoes last night - cheese, sauce, other toppings (DS had pepperoni, peppers and tomatoes, DD and I had mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes and olives) then more cheese and pop it back under the heat until you feel the need to go to Confession.

Makes tonight's seem boring.

Summerisle1 · 10/01/2015 00:07

Under cold stuff over hot stuff it's the rules

Yes. Them's definitely the rules.

DontCallMeBaby · 10/01/2015 00:12

Cheese first and last - nothing else has any right being on a baked potato. Coleslaw in particular shouldn't be ANYWHERE.

TeenagersDriveMeMad · 10/01/2015 00:20

Potato, cheese, beans, cheese. Then some more cheese Grin.

Trills · 10/01/2015 00:22

If I get one from the sandwich shop (obviously it does not JUST do sandwiches) I specify jacket with butter THEN beans THEN cheese IN THAT ORDER.

So YABU

letitpea · 10/01/2015 10:28

Pickle?!? On a jacket potato?!

OP posts:
differentnameforthis · 10/01/2015 10:30

I don't like baked potatoes.

FafferTime · 10/01/2015 11:32

We had a potato van near work run by a lovely man. After a while people realised that he did put the toppings on in the order that you asked for them.

Clearly the best combination is garlic butter, cheese and beans.

chanie44 · 10/01/2015 12:28

Cheese first.

BadgersNadgers · 10/01/2015 14:31

I don't like baked potatoes

What is wrong with you?

TidyDancer · 10/01/2015 14:34

Cheese on first. Weird the other way. Cheese needs to sink into the potato so even when you've finished the other topping, you get flavour with the potato.

I do not put butter on my potato though.

JennyOnTheBlocks · 10/01/2015 14:36

cheese on first, then the sweetcorn, then the mayo

all you lot eating beans need your jackets re-lining

EatDessertFirst · 10/01/2015 14:46

In my pub kitchen cheese goes on last, regardless of other topping temperature, unless specified.
I only like jacket spud with butter.
