I hope know that there's no chance of it happening here but I still find myself panicking when I get an itch Shock is it just me?!

Were there pictures posted on the other thread in the end?

I don't think there were any of Billy. There were links to all manner of horrors, though!

AlorsMeh · 09/01/2015 17:06

Anybody?

pictish · 09/01/2015 17:10

ebola?

Tinkerball · 09/01/2015 17:13

Well isn't this fun!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/01/2015 17:16

Spot + porn = Sporn?

nooldernowiser · 09/01/2015 17:17

cheap tat like everything from Ikea. If you mean a goat- they are pretty awful pets- do you have children.

MrsCakesPrecognition · 09/01/2015 17:21

If people don't RTFT and realise we are talking about a parasitic bug that lives under your skin and eats your flesh, I will be forced to post a picture.
You have been warned...

BeverleyCrusher · 09/01/2015 17:22

pusporn = sporn
And those that indulge = sporners

CarbeDiem · 09/01/2015 17:22

It turns my stomach just thinking about billy/billies.

Chavaloy · 09/01/2015 17:24

I too keep getting itchy - and been having odd dreams about having a Billy. If I had a Billy I would be hysterical. I would not be all calm and collected. He would not be called a nice name like Billy either!

slithytove · 09/01/2015 17:30

Yes, it's just horrific. I was talking a bout this today and it segued into the most horrible conversation about other parasites. Most notably, one in the eye.

Yuck.

splodgeses · 09/01/2015 17:53

I saw the early posts on the bug thread but lost it before her dh even got to the nurse appointment! Shock

If you genuinely are afraid, obviously it is irrational, so therefore it would be a phobia. Not sure what Billy-phobia is called.

Can someone please tell me where all of the 'classics' are? I can never find those either!

londonrach · 09/01/2015 18:02

Link needed i think. Did love the story of billy

MrsCakesPrecognition · 09/01/2015 18:05

Second MNer: "Not any more!"

Badum-tish

AmarettoSour · 09/01/2015 18:47

70 Grin I think my best part had to be Billy's 'circular hat of dh's black skin'

Is tumble drying as good as ironing because I don't have an iron!

Also it's been in the -20s here so I doubt anything Billyish could survive. But still.

Coumarin · 09/01/2015 19:04

The opening post to that thread is the most disgusting thing I've ever read. I avoided the thread when it was on aibu because of the title. So YABU to draw attention to it and do ATAAT.

AlorsMeh · 09/01/2015 19:14

PUSS PORN - oh dear oh dear oh dear.

Hatespiders · 09/01/2015 19:42

Oh dear, I feel awful if my thread about my dh's 'Billy' (the name we gave to his tumbu myiasis) has made people fearful of getting the same thing.
Myiasis (and quite a few other nasties) only occurs in the tropical regions of Sub-Saharan Africa, S America and other places with the right conditions of heat and moisture.
I've travelled all over W Africa and have never had a Billy. I've made sure my clothes dried outside have been well-ironed with one of those super Victorian-type irons you fill with glowing charcoal. All the women use these and it kills the tumbu eggs. I've never had a Guinea worm either. But if you stay in a hotel (the Gambia has quite a thriving tourist industry) you'll be fine. These things live in the bush mostly, not in cities.
I'm so sorry if anyone has been upset by my thread.
