That's it really I fear this is pretty much prefect for LA penn and France is pretty much as far to the right as one would like

Yes it's very scary. These extremists don't represent Islam. Yet I bet mosques will be attacked and Muslims will be persecuted.

I wouldn't be too concerned. Both the president and prime minister are left of centre socialists.

Whilst the right wing has a tiny minority in
the Assemblée Nationale, (upper house) the Senate (lower house) has socialist majority.

Jean-Marie Le Pen has retired, succeeded by his daughter Marine; neither Presidential nor General elections are imminent.

What, however I can't say is how these atrocities will affect the overall consciousness of the French people, but I wouldn't set too much store on the Daily Mail's opinion.

Flipflop - in the meantime, it is Jews who are being persecuted and synagogues and Jewish schools attacked in France and unfortunately the majority of these attacks are the work of the religious far right (Islamists).
